Panther Lake at Orange County National

Nice course, but greens were dry hard and very slow

This is the second time I have brought my son here. There are some difficulties here, but the stadium is well maintained and the rhythm is also very good. Everyone is in order. Although the weather is very hot, it went very smoothly. It feels better than when I first came to this stadium, because I am better at this sport now.

We enjoyed it. The course is in great shape. The greens were quick but fair. The tee shots offer the chance to hit the big stick and get rewarded and are fairly open overall.

Not sure why they let the rough get so long? Maybe prepping for a tournament but it’s the most frustrating thing that can happen on a course when you play to enjoy the game. Long story short; I was playing well and didn’t hit any shots OB but still lost 6 Prov’s. You can miss the fairway by 2 feet and lose your ball. It was so bad that the group of older guys in front of us quit after 7 holes. They spent most of the time (like us) looking for their golf balls in the rough. Which of course killed our pace of play. So; if you like to have fun and enjoy golf, I would definitely NOT recommend this course until they fix the rough. If you hate all your golf balls and want to get rid of them, OCN is for you!

This was my second time playing OCN panther lake. One of my favorite courses I’ve played. The first time I played it was a few months back. It was in great shape then and still in awesome condition now. Greens were extremely fast compared to last time though. Like PGA fast haha If I had to guess they were rolling around a 12. Rough was on the longer side about 1-2 inches. Definitely could cut the rough down some (unless a tournament is about to happen) course was definitely playing much firmer and harder then a few months ago. Long course. Couple holes I would hit a 250 yard drive down the middle and still be looking at 200 yards for my approach shot in. (No I don’t play from the tips. Did the orange/green combo tee 6500) longest 6500 I’ve played haha if you don’t have a decent driver or long irons this course will eat you up. Definitely see why the Korn ferry tour plays here

The starter, the beverage cart woman, the young lady in the restaurant, the cart attendant, all of them were fantastic. The course conditions were wonderful and the greens were perfect. Don’t know what more you could ask for … maybe have them turn the heat down …lol

Great time on the course. It was in great shape as well. However the downfall was several 2 -somes and singles out there causing slow place of play. We started at 12:00 pm and ended up calling it at 4:00 pm on the 14th hole because a storm was coming through. Overall course is in excellent shape but I suggest putting a Ranger on the course to ensure pace of play is

Beautiful golf course in great condition. Visit the area several times a year and always make a point to play OCN.

The course is pretty wide open and not a lot of water for Florida. Challenging but fair. I liked this 18 better then Crooked Cat.

Challenging course and beautiful layout! You can’t beat the value here. I have played three rounds the last few days including the Palmer course at Reunion this morning. Although the Palmer course is in great condition, Panther Lake is the same shape Amazing at about half the cost. Yes, it’s a little drive from Orlando but you will not be disappointed. Beverage cart service was good and the cart girl was friendly—-Go Noles! The best part of the round was the Ranger Paul. Really great guy that I spent time talking to between holes. I was a single in no hurry behind a 3 and 4. He gave me local course knowledge and shared info on the links course there as we are coming back with a group in September. This place is a great value and you will not be disappointed.

Panther Lake, together with Crooked Cat, is one of my regulars. I play each course once or twice a month. The staff is universally great, the grounds crew keep the courses in excellent shape, and the pace of play is typically quite good. With summer rates, it's difficult to find better courses for the money. Very pleased.

Played the Panther Lake Course at OCN with some friends and had a great time. The course is in great shape (green are still not pure after the last punch but still very playable)! I find both OCN courses challenging but fun - a good test of your game. 5 STARS - highly recommend!!
