Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
About
Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, the Golf Club at Terra Lago was the host of the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. The club's impressive guest list includes Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. There are two 18-hole courses available called the North and the South. At 7,044 yards, Terra Lago's South Course is just barely shorter than the 7,060-yard North Course but they are equally challenging. The South is known for having one of the club's most unique and memorable holes, the par-4 second. This narrow hole runs alongside a wide canal that makes anything hit to the right impossible to play. The unique part of the hole comes as you approach the green. To cross the creek, rather than having a traditional wood bridge, the course designer crafted a bridge from an old rail car, which explains its nickname as the "Boxcar" hole.

Fourth hole on the South Course Photo submitted by William4478124 on 02/22/2014
Waste of money
Don’t go and play this course - spend the money in a Casino or beer - i had 3 bachelor flights in front of me, which let me thru after 5 holes - however there is no GPS, no display. Basically you make hit an hope shots which end nowhere.
Cart get stop and you have to reverse all by a sudden.
This course looks on pictures nicer. You play in a waste area.
No cart service - first water station was 12th hole.
Seriously pay 20 Dollars more and you get a real course
Too Hot
The day was hot, the cart crew was inefficient, and the ice dispensers weren't working.
The course was in fair shape. There were bare spots throughout. The driving range is pretty far from the clubhouse, and the number of balls was generous. The cart crew was young and somewhat inattentive - except for when they stood there for a tip.
I might play again, when it is cooler - no shade, and the course design makes it a long day, without real shade.
Exceeded expectations
Great practice facilities and customer service.
A special thanks to Robert.
Interesting layout in excellent condition.
Great time at Terra Lago
The course was in good shape and the pace of play was good. Staff is friendly and helped make it a great day on the course.
Not bad for the price
Lots of water. If it's your first time expect lots of trouble. My only recommendation to the management is to invest in some cart "arrows" to indicate where to get off the fairway before the carts shut off! It seemed to be a little inconsistent from hole to hole.
The course seemed to need water!
The course wasn’t in the best of condition. The play was so slow we skipped the last two holes due to other commitments, 5 hours plus to play and not a ranger in sight. The two groups ahead sometimes played an 7 some on holes!
Poor pace of play
Tee time was at 1030 the first 8 holes were great because no one was in front of us. Once I got to hole 8 and caught up to the morning groups is when the waiting began. Multiple groups of 4 that were taking over 30 minutes to complete a Par 3. Ended up leaving after 12 holes due to poor pace of play and no Marshall to speed up slow groups.
Good test of golf skills
We enjoyed playing the South course. It was in good condition. The greens were a bit on the slow side. Would love to see another bathroom out there. There was only one on hole 9. Which is a long wait. Fairways we're very nice. It was a great course for the money. The starter was very friendly.
Like Paiute, but more affordable
Great course layout. Greens were fast, fairways were exceptionally maintained, roughs were tough. Various elevations of on tee boxes that were challenging with the winds. Very similar to Paiute in Las Vegas. But a much better value. The team working the carts like Robert were extremely helpful sharing insight on the course. Staff was very friendly. Pace was fine. Gotta love the empty railroad cars they used for bridges along the course. Phenomenal value for such a quality course.
Excellent Course
First time playing the South Course. Tricky when playing next to the canal , but a very fun experience
Staff Member was Rude
Overall this was a nice course. However, when we tried to GPS it using the 'Map It' link on the Golf Now email, it took us to the wrong place. Clicking on the course's actual address (right beside the 'map it' link) it mapped us correctly.
When we arrived, I mentioned it to the fellow working the desk and tried to show him my phone so he understood the issue and he barked at me saying "Don't show me that!". He was very rude the rest of our time there. I don't feel I was confrontational with him. It left us with a bad taste and we won't go back because of this.
