Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
About
Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, the Golf Club at Terra Lago was the host of the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. The club's impressive guest list includes Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. There are two 18-hole courses available called the North and the South. At 7,044 yards, Terra Lago's South Course is just barely shorter than the 7,060-yard North Course but they are equally challenging. The South is known for having one of the club's most unique and memorable holes, the par-4 second. This narrow hole runs alongside a wide canal that makes anything hit to the right impossible to play. The unique part of the hole comes as you approach the green. To cross the creek, rather than having a traditional wood bridge, the course designer crafted a bridge from an old rail car, which explains its nickname as the "Boxcar" hole.

Fourth hole on the South Course Photo submitted by William4478124 on 02/22/2014
Not worth the money
Apparently the North course is magic !!! This south course is poor in condition and needs a lot of work …. The sand in the sand traps was the worst we have ever played in …. Like hitting a ball off pavement
The greens were slow and inconsistent
South still needs help - north is playing nicely
You can tell the owners are putting money into the course but this side has a ways to go. Pretty dry and baked out.
Friendly starter and cart girl.
Suggest 17 be cleaned up between the forward tees and the green. The bushes are so high you can’t see the gree.
Lots of fun, despite the gale force wind
It was a super windy day (30+ mph winds) which made scoring a challenge, but the course has so much variety and challenge it was still a very fun day. Greens are fast and smooth, and fairways were in good shape.
Would play it again
Played early on a Saturday morning as a threesome. Course was a little wet due to heavy rains earlier in the week. Overall the fairways, tees, and greens were in excellent condition. Some of the non over seeded areas were in low areas which made them softer than normal. Bunker sand was a little inconsistent. Good layout, front nine was a little tougher than the back. Nice mix of tee box options and they used train containers as bridges which was pretty cool. Large practice facility where you could work on all aspects of your game. Would definitely play here again and it was worth the money.
Washrooms
Absolutely terrible. Nothing available at the turn and drive range on south course!!!!
We were told to use clubhouse but were unable to get carts to proceed unless we drove in reverse??
Fun enough to play in the rain
Rain came in starting at #10. Course layout is too much fun to stop. Pace of play great when everyone else flees.
Amazing Course, Terrible Staff
Drove 150 miles to play this course, it’s amazing, greens are in immaculate condition, fairways are in immaculate condition, sand traps were hard as a rock on most holes, the staff in the pro shop were not very friendly, the starter was why I would give this course 5 stars, I had a 910 am tee time, I showed up at 905 and he said I was late and the 2 some that I was playing with already teed off, he said they told me not to go to the driving range cause I would be late which I was 5 minutes early, he argued with me that I was holding up the line, he was definitely in the wrong
Great layout , interesting holes
Have played both North and South courses many times. Great mountain views. Holes vary with many elevation changes. Love both courses. Highly recommend for a very different and enjoyable experience.
Nice course layout.
Course layout and bunkering was very good. Conditioning was good but bunkers needed more sand.
Unfortunate golf experience
We played the South course. Their policy is to drop off your clubs at the entrance then staff takes them away and loads a cart in back of the building. Your bags are not available to get into once you leave your vehicle. The same procedure when you’re done and they shuttle you to the entrance. Not friendly. The course is not landscaped along fairways. Looks dirty. Cancelled the North course after we played the South
Perfect Day
I buddy and I had the perfect weather to golf, 74 degrees, cloudy. The attendants at the check in were first class. They took care of us like we were pros! Girls at food restaurant were friendly and put out some great tacos and beer. course in super good shape. Very challenging but very doable for us average golfers. Can’t wait to do the course again next week!
Great experience
We loved the course and found entire staff to be very helpful and pleasant. The greens were supreme and putted true. We played the South Course and it was a little confusing for a couple of 70 year olds to find the 10th tee box. But we highly recovered the course.
