Shadow Hills Golf Club

Course was green well maintained. The fairways were a little on the heavy side and wet causing very little roll for a 55+ Community. Three greens were challeging but very fair. I did have some one Putts.

Fun to play. Good course design. Some bare spots but weather has been unseasonable hotter than average.

Only bad part was that it was a shotgun start at 12:30pm in the afternoon that I wasn’t made aware of ahead of time. Never got to hit any practice shots or putting due to so many people trying to hit at the time.

Had my own cart and had to find my own way to my starting hole which was a par 3. First time playing the course and only one teeing up from my tee box so didn’t know where to aim my shots. My 3 lady playing partners were very nice and friendly. Course was laid out well with lots of water and sand traps. Would play it again.

Conditions were quite good. Greens receptive but reasonably quick. Bunkers sand volume and consistency were good. Fairways are generous and virtually no rough. Demand is on second shot accuracy. Marshall was present, but course was full and, consequently, pace was slower than my preferred round, but we finished in 4:25. Nice practice area. Shop staff was very pleasant and took time to share important details with a first time customer. I felt that the value was quite good when contrasted with other courses in the area.

Course is fine, staff is cool. Maybe could use a cambros with cold water at 5 and 14.

Staff seemed rude. Starter was fine. They close the turn window for drinks in the afternoon and no bev cart. Someone could die of thirst

The winds hit 25 mph. They had a shotgun tournament earlier, so all the golfers went out shotgun again at 12:30pm. Pace was reasonable. No waiting except some of the longer Par 3's. Course layout is straightforward. However, it was brutal trying to navigate the course with swirling winds. The staff and starters were excellent. Will definitely try to play again under better weather conditions.

Staff was excellent. Started the round with dry weather it changed within a couple of holes and my playing partners left the course as did many others. Played the course by myself for the rest of the round with the weather changing from showers wind to sunny and back to wet again. The course held up well with the wet weather and was very enjoyable to play. Shots that missed the fairway were very playable with the greens being receptive due to the moisture. Greens were still quick and rolled true. Would recommend the course if you come to the Palm Springs area.

This was my first time playing a course in the Palm Springs area so I can’t compare it to others, but the course was in excellent shape. It is a resorts style with wide fairways and short rough so pretty forgiving. I never really had a terrible lie. Some tight lies in the closely mown areas near the greens which made putting an option. I teed off at 7:30am and the course was still wet. The greens were a bit slower from the moisture and I got a few mud balls on tee shots in the middle of the fairways. There are some deep bunkers I ended up in, but they all had excellent sand. The few staff I interacted with were very nice. I was a single matched up with 3 people who live in the course community and they were super kind, welcoming and helped me with some course knowledge which probably saved me a few shots. 😉
