Did not live up to hype
Overall very disappointing. Course condition was very disappointing and pace of play was SUPER slow with no marshals in sight. Patrons need to be educated on pace of play and allowing quicker players to play through. A 2 ball getting stuck behind a 4 ball without a clue is very frustrating. Tiger would have been embarrassed today for sure.
Greens and fairways looked very poorly maintained for the most part.
Course does not deserve it’s rating on GolfNow
This a good course for all levels of experience
My group was satisfied with the pace of play and also enjoyed the course layout. I will be returning to dad miller for another round.
Course and Pro shop
Pro shop was very helpful in regards to shopping for golf shoes. Pace of play on a Sunday was challenging a bit. Fairways in average shape with he greens in good shape and exceptionally fast.
First Time
First time playing. Staff and starter extremely friendly. Course Marshall very friendly, kept pace moving even though course crowded. Greens and traps in excellent shape. Fairways ok, but spotty. Virtually no rough. First time playing course. Was ok, but being from Inland Empire probably not worth the drive. Have many less crowded, better shape, and less expensive courses available locally. Enjoyable day. Nice to try a new location, but most likely will not be back.
Dad Miller golf course.
The green was fast but in good condition. The pace of play was good. Tha fIrway needs a little work but its playable, so im giving thiz course 3 1/2.
Historical course
This is basically an easy course to walk and play. Well-maintained and affordable. Built in 1961 and designed by Dick Miller. This place has a lot of history. Gets crowded at times, course features a lake with lovely trees surrounding the fairways and can easily be walked.
Great Old School Course
Every couple of months I meet my buddy halfway between San Diego and L.A., usually in Orange County. I had heard of Dad Miller before but never played here. We were both pleasantly surprised by the condition and the layout of this classic course. It's located in the middle of urban Anaheim. The surrounding area is a little crusty but the course was fantastic. The staff was super friendly as well. The layout is perfect for me and my buddy - we're both high handicappers. The course features wide fairways and is mostly flat. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were just about perfect. The course is challenging in places with some old trees and water hazards.
We were grouped with a really nice 70-something guy and we had a great time! I wish we had this same kind of course in North County San Diego, where I live. I would definitely play this course again. Also, surprisingly it wasn't crowded and we were able to complete our round in 3.5 hours - which was icing on the cake!
Nice Muni/Friendly staff
This course is nothing out of this world, but they have a friendly staff the course was in a good condition. A few gimmicky holes, but overall a good value and a fun course. I will play here again.
The Course is Tired
Most of the course is playable. The back 9 is a little rough. The course, clubhouse, restaurant is tired. Anaheim needs to put some money into this course or it will be too far gone. It could be a very nice course. The Long Beach courses in comparison are much nicer.
Nice little course
A simple course, somewhat odd layout, but fun and challenging. Good value for he money. Not sure why rough is so long, it'd not "the open". Balls a easily lost in rough and there's too much time spent looking, which affects pace of play. Suggestion; cut the rough and speed up play!!!
nice value, good pace
For a SoCal muni course the pace of play was outstanding, 4:15 for 18 holes. We waited a little on the last 3 holes but this is a miracle around here. The course is typical too, condition typical with all the play it sees but the greens were in really good condition and the bunkers were quite nice too.
management after rain
Management after rain was very poor, so it was very uncomfortable. When I saw the field and fairway, it looked like to play normally but they didn't permit to use cart. I think they were very lazy.
bad bad management by club house staffs
Our tee time was 12:30, but we teed off at 1:15; It was 45 minutes delay.
Therefore we could not play the last 3 holes due to darkness.
According golfers that were waiting, it had been delayed due to the fact that the club house took a number of extra walk-ins where all tee times were already fully booked. I would guess some extra 20 golfers were squeezed in all morning.
It was terrible management for extra money.
