Worst golf course in the universe. This course has no maintenance no greens putting was 2 inches thick holes everywhere overgrown they need to close this place down and put it under new management this should not be on golf now or on any type of website as a golf course. When we check as we arrived when we checked and the guy said that they were under some type of maintenance and a couple other issues the whole course is an issue from top to bottom this is absolutely 100% horrible I would not recommend this until under new management.

You cannot putt on the greens. I dont understand how this site could sell tee times for this dump. This golf course isnt even functional - its a bad joke. The course looks nothing like the pictures. Its under construction. Do not waste your time & money golfing @ this crap course. Hands down worst golf experience ever. Thank you for wasting my time Golfnow

Concerned the course is closing. Very dry and unkempt. One of our favorite courses but going down hill while green fees going up.

The course is in bad shape and they are way overcharging for the condition of the course. They should be charging $30, not $45.

Save your money. Last time I played here,, there was no grass on the fairways, the greens were diseased, the tee boxes were a mess. And there was no sand in the bunkers.

DO NOT play here!!! I have never played a course in such disreapair. After driving an hour ro get there, we were greated by the starter and he said the course has been under construction since 2019 and gave us fair warning how bad it would be.. However the construction crew never got far. Hardly any grass is left and what is left is 8 inches tall. Not 1 green that was even putt-able!!! Sand traps were only hard dirt and some water holes were drained dry.

HOW COULD GOLFNOW not know about this???

We drove by the course the day before and saw maybe six cars in the parking lot at noon. The place looked like a rundown western ghost town. Weeds everywhere in the parking lot. Then there's the course. They must never water, because there is hardly any grass anywhere. I was afraid I would damage my clubs hitting everything off the hardpan fairways. We didn't even show up to play our round, and had to eat the entire cost because it was a non-cancellable prepaid deal. Do yourself a favor and find another course to play on that actually has grass. Isn't that what all golf courses are supposed to have?

Do not play this course until they have reworked it. It is incredibly bad shape.

I walked into the pro shop, some kid sitting there blaring his music, the place was in shambles, it looked like the opening scene from “Tin Cup”

Found out from the “Kid” that the place hasn’t watered anything in months, “because they were waiting on a water pump” what a Farce !!!

What really happened was some wheeler dealer guy bought the course a few years back, and lost his tail along with a gas station in Escondido.

This course used to be absolutely a blast and beautiful, but since the new owner it’s turned into dirt, the community that surrounds the course should file a class action against this fool !!!

We showed up and the course is dead... the kid in the pro shop says they are under renovations and the course hasn't been watered in over 2 months.

All of the grass was Brown hadn't watered in two months according to attendant walked of as soon as we saw the coarse condition someone should have advised the public about the conditions wasted time and gas getting to it only to find the course in such bad shape.

oh and $10.00 for the booking fee that was not refundable. :(

No grass, has not had water for 4+ months. GolfNow needs to remove this course!

Seems ownership has finally pulled the plug on even pretending to have any plans to keep this course playable.

Greens haven’t been mowed or even watered in weeks, it seems.

Fairways have been brown all year

On the upside, your drives will roll forever on the brown fairways.

And the pace of play was great! I was the only player i saw on the course. Maybe five cars in the parking lot at 10:00 on a Saturday.

Sad. I wonder if Circle R Ranch-Castle Creek has been a fixture in north county for long enough to earn historical site status…

Got to the course and the staff informed me they haven’t had water for 3 months. No grass on the course at all. I would like a refund please!?

I requested refund from golf now because the pro shop guy Jason said the course is unplayable condition due to no water. What a wasted time and gas.

Course has not been watered in 2 months. They told us in the pro shop that course was not in good condition so no dishonesty there. We could deal with bad tees, brown fairways and Hard pan bunkers but greens that weren’t really greens was difficult and made it not really golf. There were 3 or 4 greens that did have grass but had not been mowed in a while so like a 2 on a stimpmeter. Pace of play was good because NO ONE was out there which was good!
