Worst Course.
Horrible course. Worst I have ever played on. Conditions were terrible as we hit off of rock filled tee boxes, dirt fairways, and concrete sand boxes
The not-so “#4 golf course in SD county!”
Simply put… this course was not worth the money. Throughout the round, the emptiness and overgrown course drops your right into an apocalyptic golf round, looking down the fairway for walking zombies. The course is in dire need for repair and maintenance.

Don’t waste your time or money
The course needs to be closed. They’re basically stealing your money to play here. Desperately needs to be renovated, otherwise stop scamming people to play here. Worst course I’ve ever played and easily one of the worst courses in all of CA.
So Dissapointing
There was a time many years ago that this was a very nice course. Awesome grounds keeping, challenging and fun. Now you'd have to pay me to play here! The gophers and squirrels own this course. The greens are full of weeds and half dead. The tee boxes for the ladies are nearly non existent. The club house bar was friendly, yet the counter employees when we checked in were rude. I had been bragging to some friends about this course and they wanted to join us for a round. I was embarrassed to say the least ! I doubt I'll ever return.

Poorly Managed Course
Golfed here the day after thanksgiving. Staff was present, but absent if that makes sense. The course layout was the worst I’d seen, but to be fair I haven’t seen many courses. The course was not well kept, dead grass and gopher holes everywhere. I lost several balls that I saw land in the fairway, but as I approached the were gone. We were told to take any of the available golf carts; however, mid course we realized our cart was running out of power and we struggled to make it up hills. The course could benefit from new management and staff that actually cares. I would still say I enjoyed my experience, and would come back if they fixed these issues or if I had no other option.

Don’t bother
Made a reservation on Golf now app and found out the course is being revamped and was basically closed. Trying to improve the greens and fairways but very disappointing. Shouldn’t be offering tee times at this golf course. Waste of money.

Greens Back from Covid
Covid has taken it's toll in many strange ways including the greens keeping at Castle Creek. The green are however getting back to normal. I have played Castle for almost 2 decades. The layout continually challenges me and the 5 different T colors offer change ups that eliminate boredom.
I'm back to playing twice a week there!

Do not waste your money
No mention at all about having 10 temporary greens and only 16 holes of play. Worst course in California, do not waste your money on this cow pasture. I reached out to the course regarding 2 free rounds once all greens are open and received no response.

Only play here if it’s your only option.
Greens soaked through. Fairways were like playing in the rough. Which I’m very familiar with. Lol. Course is basically in full repair. I’d wait till the fairways are green again and gopher holes are removed. Staff was super nice. No concessions offered, that we were aware of. They did discount me my 65.00 game to a 40.00 dollar game when I first got there. But the state in which the course was, I’d say my game was worth 15 or 20 dollars.

In disrepair
Do not golf here yet. The course is undergoing major maintenance (something the website doesn’t bother mentioning). The greens where soaked through and the fairways haven’t been maintained in a long time. It was like playing out of the rough. Only played a couple holes than left. It looks like it has potential but it’s not gonna be playable anytime soon.

Worst course conditions
Nowhere on Golfnow or the course website did it say all temporary greens. 2 holes were completely closed, no signs nothing. I paid 68 dollars for 2 players and it was a complete waist of time and money. Staff at the course was extremely rude. I will never play this course again.

An absolute cow pasture…literally !
Ten ( 10) holes had awful TEMPORARY greens AND two (2) holes were closed completely and therefore unplayable. The fairways were literally a mixture of dirt patches and crabgrass ALL sand traps were only dirt.
GolfNow should have had a course advisory regarding the condition prior to accepting payment from unsuspecting paying golfers.
Just awful !
I intend to report this to TeeOff and request a refund!

Better off closing it down
Stay away. If this course dropped prices to $20 a round you'd STILL be over-paying for what you receive.

Under Renovation??
This course was worse than a cow pasture. 2 holes closed, 10 holes with temporary greens, and fairways with occasional mounds of grass. Total open play which was great. Good for practicing different shots, but in poor condition. Truly the worst course I have ever played on. $35 was a fair price for a Friday in San Diego, but not a good course for a low-medium handicap. If you are a 20+ handicap, it is worth it. Better to wait until the "renovation" is complete.
Played it Sunday. That place would be better off closed down.
