Always like playing here
Good greens. Love the layout. A couple of awkward holes but overall a good variety of shots and challenges.
Bunkers need different/more sand.
Excellent fairways. Two impossible hole locations- first time i've seen that here.
No range but practice net at first tee.
Great pub!!
A little rough
The greens were a little rough and in areas where the grass had been recently cut and left, it was a little thick (poor for those with allergies). The pace of play seemed a little slow but it might just be that groups need more spacing between. We were following a foursome that seemed to be all over the place looking for balls, but they weren't too far behind the group in front of them so maybe this par for the course.
castle creek
course is good, but I hope my wife never guys another deal from you. you save no money, could have called the course and gotten cheaper rate. your the one who profits from this
In the last few years they closed the mid course snack shop. You have to go into the main restaurant and wait 20 to 30 minutes for real food. There is no course service at all. I complained to the desk man about this and he told me that everything was available in the pro shop. Kind of a smart aleck. I told him that they only had snacks not sandwiches etc available.. His attitude was "thats just tough" and he continued to argue with me. To keep playing one has to bring your own lunch. The course is in good shape and price is right. Pro shop guy should be fired for poor customer relations.
Grass on the course!!
Last time I played Castle Creek, the majority of fairways were dirt.
I was very happy to see grass in the fairways and water in the creeks.
The course is challenging for me and I lost a few balls. But loved the challenge and I will be back.
Great experience
I have played this course many times and yesterday (3/18/17) was the best. Before our recent rain in SD, this course was so dry that it was difficult to enjoy. As others have mentioned, the rain has it in good shape. That, combined with the relatively few people on the course at the time, allowed me to play an enjoyable round in exactly 3 hours. If this course played like yesterday more than it played like when it was dry and when rounds take 4.5 hours, I would play it more often.
Very nice course for the price!
First time playing and I would rival the course to most in Temecula and Murrieta as far as how well the fairways and greens are maintained. Beautiful canyon course with some fairly challenging holes. Will definitely keep this one on the frequent list.
Good value
This course has challenges, but is need of some TLC by the maintaince dept. A few time had to deal with golfer from adjacent fairways that hit errant shots.
Great condition
Very fast and difficult greens after the recent rains. Overall, a fantastic course.
Excellent conditions
Course lush, green, and well manicured.
Played 18 holes in 4 hours on Friday morning.
Had a great experience.
Great to see the course in such good shape
The rain has really helped Castle Creek recover a lot from the drought.
There are still a few rough spots but overall it is very playable now.
Hope they can manage to keep up what Mother Nature has gifted them.
Enjoyable Holiday Round
Castle Creek is not a high end course but it offers great value for the money. The course was in great shape after all of the rain So Cal has had lately. It was crowded as one would expect on a holiday but the pace of play was tolerable. There were a couple of bottlenecks, but we didn't have to wait too long between most shots. I had not played in a couple of months and this course was just the right level of challenge to work on getting my swing back in shape. Some of the greens have tough subtle breaks but they were rolling well. Nice time with new friends.
Good value
Worth the drive for the price. Challenging with four sets of tees, slow play but it was a holidays. Staff efficient but that was about it.
Course has improved in the last few months
The rain has improved the course condition significantly.
Valentine's day review
Good grass coverage due to recent rains. Much better than usual for this course. Greens were firm and smooth but there were dead and bare spots on quite a few of them. Good value right now.
It was slow as we waited on every hole. the golfers in front were more niterested in drinking then thepoace of play
So very slow, I think they were double booked
We golfed on a Thursday at 10:30. We were backed up 3 deep and never teed off without waiting 5-10 minutes even after the twosome in front of us quit playing. Fairways were bad. Not a fun course.
