not worth 15 dollars greens and fairways were just awful not worth the time or money

Course is very dry. Many of the fairways are burned grass or no grass at all. Greens were is good shape. If you are planning a last-minute outing, this could be the one for you

This course is in the worst condition I have ever seen the owners need to put some money in to it or close it for good not worth paying 15 dollars to play here

Well its overpriced for a course that had little to no green grass. Played off alot of dirt in the middle of fairways and hard sand pits but even with a water shortage id still expect more! On a Saturday you would be lucky to find a snack cart, or on your way to the 10th stop at the snack bar, where you could wait for hours and no one will ever show up! Happens everytime! But the bars always open for all those alcoholics out there that would rather drink beer then eat food. Really 32$ to play a course with anything i stated above is almost always a NO for me. I've played here many times over the last 10 years so I've seen it at the best and the worst now and the price shouldn't be more then $20 with a cart during the summer, ESPECIALLY if there is a short on water and staff. Good luck playing !

The Green's were excellent condition and played well, I hit long putts. Fairways were 50/50 green/yellow. Cart received a flat on hole 13 and staff came out with new cart immediately. Thanks.

This golf course is ran down so sad to see this condition is poor I used to play this course before and it was nice I hope they do something to improve and make golfer comeback again.

Good price and good pace, Greens were in nice shape, fairways very dry. Upside of that is the extra roll

you get on short hard grass.

We have played this course and always enjoyed it in the past....but now it is in need of course repair....water and seeding....hope they do what is needed, was a nice coures....can be again

Course is definitely the driest in San Diego! Men's club play in fivesomes!!! Don't let twosomes play thru!!! Hitting the ball from the fairway is like hitting off dry straw!!! If there is anything good to say about this course is the greens. I know where the all the water goes to. Greens are very soft, like mudd!

awful! no grass between the tee and green. Totally dead. Even missing a green required trying to chip from dirt. I know there's a drought but maybe water the landing areas where your drive would land. I won't go back

The course is in awful condition. The fairway grass is indistinguishable from the rough. The fairways are brown. The greens look green but only because they put a color dye on the grass for the greens. Everytime you hit a ball on the green, it is soaked with this green dye. Gross. The sand traps have little to no sand. The layout is great but the conditions are terrible. No range.

Extremely dry fairways with only patches of grass in most areas.

Cart paths need major repair.

Fivesome (men's club) in front of us very slow. 5.5 hr round.

No regular coffee, decaf only!?

I won't be returning until I hear about major changes.

This is a great course layout-wise...fun, interesting holes offering a challenge as well as beautiful views and mature trees. Sadly, the course is in TERRIBLE condition with dying fairways, lots of scruffy, patchy areas and the bunkers are like hitting out of a quarry. Greens are very bumpy and S L O W. Appears that no money is being put in to help this long-ago gem remain a viable North County golf destination. Too bad.

This course was not easy by any means. I'm an 11 handicap and shot an 86 from the Blues(+14) and I never was in any of the trouble that you can get in just off the fairways. The greens were very sloped, so if your ball was above the hole, watch out, And the sand traps were almost muddy. The worst part about it was that they are letting go of the course maintanance throughout the entire course and it isn't nearly as green as the pictures, but it is still a great course for $40. I would recomend to anyone to try and give Castle Creek a go.

First off, I am an average golfer, and I don't have extremely high standards for what I expect at a Golf Course. Posh, high-end country clubs are a nice treat every now and then, but I don't need all the extra ammenities to enjoy the game.

That being said, I was extremely disappointed in Castle Creek, start to finish.

-Pro Shop: Run Down looking, very limited selection of items to purchase, cashier was vitually comatose.

-Staff: Not rude, but most were as bored as the cashier. Only one who had any sign of life was the lovely young bartender, who was very much pregnant and probably doing way more than her share of the work.

-Cart: My "freshly cleaned" cart had a half-eaten snack/pastry wedged in one of the cubbies that didnt see til a couple holes in. Are you kidding me?

-No Driving Range, but a pathetic looking net that one person at a time can use (if they dare)

-Small green for chipping/putting in fair condition

-Tee boxes: Some were ok, most were in poor condition, some were just dirt

-Fairways were ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Grass was either thin, dead or completely gone! The "rough" was virtually the same, that is if you could tell where the "fairway" ended and the "rough" began! What a joke!

-Greens were actually in DECENT condition, the only thing close to a plus for this course.

-Sandboxes were basically hard dirt

-Course layout was mostly flat with a few elevated tees and a couple little quirks here and there. The overall feel would have been a nice practice course if the conditions were at least decent. And a lot of houses very close to fairways make for some uncomfortable shots.

Overall, very disappointed. I can have a good time at almost any golf course, unfortunately this is one of the few I cannot.

Hitting cage, one person only, condition pathetic. On course bathroom,

Restrooms deplorable, filthy, damp from water, wood rot, rusted sink, corroded fixtures, commode could be used but don't touch, for shure don't sit. Club house condition a tear down, exterior paint peeling, wood rot viewable between missing and rotting wood exterior.

Tbox conditions, using T's a must, Condition poor.

Fairways LIFT CLEAN & PLACE, regardless of how far you have to go find some kind of grass to play off of!

Many dead trees, lots of dead trees, dead trees along #10-#11-#12. The Greens were wonderful, wow.

I'm probably spoiled since I live, and play the courses, in the La Quinta area which fairways are all like carpet even during the summer. So, I'm always amazed at the pretty ratty condition of the SD courses I play. Castle Creek's fairways are pretty crummy, condition wise, but you can't beat the fun factor and good value. The back 9 is more challenging than the front 9. Overall, an enjoyable 18 holes; and The Gopher Hole is nice, with a killer view of the course.

Good mix of holes, fun to play now and then, usually over priced for over all condition, bunkers are hard with rocks in them , making it a joke at times.

Fun to play there.....
