Castle Creek Country Club

The pace was extremely slow and the grass is dry and brown

I have been playing Castle Creek for at least 15 years. I've seen it in good shape and not so good shape but I was shocked to see how the course has deteriorated. It reminds me of Escondido Country Club just before it closed for good. Seems like this course is headed for the same fate.
Too bad because it's a good layout. There may be too much damage to survive. I wish them the best but I have scratched CC from my rotation.

Had 8 am tee time, didn't get out until 8:30. Took 4 plus hours to play 14 holes. Course is in horrible condition- majority of the course is dead or dirt, green appear green but are painted green. 5somes all over the place, people in jeans.... Pretty bad.

course was in poor condition and no snack bar or beverage cart. it was a tuesday, but at least the snack bar should have been open

I believe the green fees should be a factor of the course conditions. The fairways were dead grass and the greens were dried out and extremely fast. it wasn't worth the amount of the fees charged.

This course has always had a great layout It is undergoing repairs and up keep and from the looks of it it will be ready for prime time around February. But it was a fun round with a challenge from any of the tee boxes. Greens had been punched a few weeks prior and were close to fully repaired. Some fungus issues on some greens still present but not enough to hurt the round. Fun Outing. Good value.

Fairways are dry, greens are not up to par. And they over book tee times. It was a cluster. I won't play here again.

The course is in poor conditions with many bare spots in tee boxes, fairways, and rough. You could easily injure your wrists and elbows if you mis-hit your shot and come to in contact the ground first. It was disappointing to play 18 holes on a course in such a rough condition. We would not play this course again until we are sure that the conditions have improved.

Whomever maintains this course needs to be fired. The fairways were mostly dead dry grass, the bunkers were solid dirt no sand, and the greens were the only "green" part on the course.

The pace of play was so slow on the back 9 we had to jump over to hole 12.... it was a solid 45 minute wait to tee off of 9.

Poorly maintained and poorly managed course

Not now or you be disappointed. Course very dry and Bermuda is dormant. Picture used is from 30 Years ago. Greens just punched and very bumpy. Course running hard and fast. Will ok with about 5 inches of rain next year. For the love of god please fix the cart paths never seen worse condition.

The good ... 4 hour round, inexpensive green fees, interesting layout, friendly staff, greens in good condition. The bad ... I had numerous bare lies, dry fairways, bunker sand is more dirt than sand. This course is a trade-off of price, interesting holes, good greens and poor course condition. I might play it again, but would not recommend it to my friends.

Golf Course can I could use a little manicure but the overall layout is really nice .the the employees are more than friendly awful nice people had a great time there recommend it to anybody

All greens were full of sand. It's like putting on a beach. They should have sanded at least 9 holes at a time. Otherwise might as well close the course. It's not playable.

Played the course years ago.....as far back as when it was called Circle R Ranch.....lot more maturity, lots of big trees......greens were good....traps, terrible.....yard ages seem pretty far from correct.
Lots of tees being worked on, so probably a contributor.
Confronted 3 singles at different times,,one of whom hit into us......we allowed all to play through since we were a fore some.....wondering why the shop didn't let them play together.....as opposed to all singles.....

Absolutely terrible conditions. The fairways were so dry and hard, it made it impossible to hit an effective shot. Would never recommend anyone to play there. Waste of my money.

Greens were in good shape, pretty open fairways. Can't beat the price for such a fun course!

The course is well kept in spite of the drought. They do well with the greens. The fairways are kind of dry but very playable. The grounds crew makes the most of the water they are allotted.

THE COURSE OVER ALL IS IN GREAT SHAPE, TAKING IN THE CONSIDERATION OF WATER RESTRICTIONS. SOME OF THE TEE BOXES ARE PRETTY ROUGH. THE BAR WAS UNDER STAFFED WITH THE LUNCH CROWD BUT THE EVERYONE THAT WORKS THERE WERE VERY FRIENDLY!

I played this course with a buddy. We got a all you can play deal on a Friday. Showed up and was greeted by a friendly staff. Got sent out right away with no issues. Course is in good shape in drought conditions. First round was played in 3 hours! Tough holes, but we enjoyed the round. Turned right back out for a second round and the front 9 were great. Second 9 took forever. There were 2 foursomes and 2 twosomes that did not know how to play and backed everyone up. Last 3 holes took over an hour. But overall for the price and quality of the course, I will be back.
