California Oaks Golf Course

As always great course, greens ran incredibly fast and fairways, could tell was under construction. Still had a blast.

The course layout I think is unique and have to say probably great in its prime but now it needs some care. I hope it survives these times and owners invest in rewarding those hitting fairways, I felt penalized at times for stripping it off the tees.

After booking a “Hot Deal” online, when I get to the place to check in the guy told me that the cart is not included in the hot deal. That I had to pay an additional $20 because my booking was too cheap. Making my booking $4 more than the regular price. Sucks that on the fine print it doesn’t tell you the cart is not included when is says walking.

Im fairly new to golf so I don't have a lot of experience, but this course isn't the best. If I had paid 20 dollars for it then I would have no complaints because I know for 20 you're not going to get a whole lot. In this case 40 dollars is too much for rough greens, poor tips and fairways. it's very outdated too.

Terrible, showed up for 10:30 T-time 40 minutes early and they didn’t have any carts, golf courses need to stop over booking

They are overbooked and don't have enough carts. My cart wasn't charged and I quit on 13. They don't have a Marshall and there are a bunch of bad golfers on the course who don't have the courtesy to let faster players go through. The lady in the clubhouse is very sweet so there's that.

Better off playing in a vacant feild, I can’t believe this place is still open… go literally anywhere else

Greens were not good. Fairways were just ok on some holes and bad on others. Needs to be maintained better. Good layout just dry and dead on most holes. Great potential but not green enough.

Me & a friend played just 9 holes & we asked for two carts & had no issue paying whatever extra fee there was. She then proceeds to make disgusted/ annoyed faces at us & tell us why? That she doesn’t wanna pull out another cart. ITS YOURE JOB. Super rude. At least lie & make it believable instead of being rude

Course was in really rough condition , lots of bare areas in “fairway”. They had punched greens and were watering them heavy, so balls plugged. They didn’t have an aeration alert flagged, so that sucked. Then it was like they gave the whole grounds crew the week off. Tee boxes were either dirt or long grass and everywhere else was just growing wild! Course has definitely gone down hill, needs a qualified superintendent. Won’t be playing there anytime soon, hopefully they can get it turned around, used to be a fun track.

My friend and I booked tee time on hot deal on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm and drove from Irvine to play. The lady at the pro shop told me that she couldn’t find our name on their system, later we found out through golfnow customer service that the golf course had to cancel our tee time for some reason. I understand they may have reason to manage their schedule some time, however, the pro shop didn’t tell us why our tee time was canceled or who did the cancelation process. We were very disappointed and waste for whole Sunday afternoon. The lady should have told us sorry that they had to cancel our tee time but it never happened. I’ll never be back to the golf club.

The overall maintenance of the course is very poor. There was a couple of greens that was so dried out it was cracked and black. Some fairways was good and others was just horrible. Knowing the conditions of the course I was shocked that they were still charging $40. The front nine was closed this particular time so everyone was playing the back nine twice and it created a mess because the pace of play was off due to a lot of people playing and not being spread out accordingly.

I had given up on this course by spring of 2022. Drove by last week and noticed how much better it looked. Played 9 today and it is on its way to being a great little course. Still needs some love but there’s green fairways and lush greens ( with some issues) A great course to work on your game.

Also new golf carts! Keep it up!
