California Oaks Golf Course

Short course about 5500 yards or so from the blues. Had an amazonlocal coupon, got a lesson with the pro, was very good. Came with food, golf, cart, all in all was a great value! Played on a tuesday, and got done in about 3.5hours! Very fast round. Would definitely reccomend this course and the Amazon local voucher to anyone. Course plays longer than it looks

California Oaks Golf Club is excellent golf course in the city of Murrieta. Cntrally located just off freeway I-15 exit at California Oaks.
It is a very peaceful, beautiful scenery surrounded by green grass, tall trees, turtle, birds, white cran and bunny rabbits ( We actually saw them at the course).
Since there are 6-7 lakes and 2-3 creeks running across the course, the scenery are very pleasant like resort retreat.
The Green condition is one of the best in the Valley. For the best part is the famous house hamburger. I just simply fall in love with it.

overall good for the money, $4 green fee +1 $12 golf cart rental. I paid for 2 green fees though, didn't have the option for one. Also if purchasing for 2, was told I would have to buy 2 golfcart fees. go figure!

There's trouble on most of the holes if the ball in not kept straight. Most holes are short but there's a lot of water that comes into play on a lot of the holes. Overall it was a great experience.

overall we had a blast. The greens were in nice shape.

Kind of course you need to manage ,tight and challenging.

We had a 0615 tee time. The staff finally showed up and opened the Pro shop @ 0630 - he seemed to have been forced out of bed and did not want to be there. He quietly went about his business getting his shop ready and finally collected our payment. We teed off at about 0645 and swiftly finished the first 9 holes. At the 10th we were dismayed to find out there was tournament - 15 groups of senior players. We ended up waiting at every hole on the back 9 since there were only two of us and everyone ahead of us were foursome. The golf course needs a lot of maintenance.

GOLFED HERE BECAUSE I AM VISITING A OLDER FRIEND WHO LIVE NEXT TO THE COURSE. I AM FROM NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND THE COURSE HERE IS A LITTLE ROUGH. SOME SOME GREENS NOT IN THE BEST SHAPE. CREEK ONHOLE 10 SMELLS LIKE SEWER. GRASS A NEWW HIGH...LOST A FEW BALLS BECAUSE OF IT..BUT IT IS CLOSE TO WHERE I AM VISITING.

I play this coarse a lot. It is not crowded so you do not have a lot of pressure if you are not a top notch golfer to keep up.

There is a couple things they could do to make it a lot better though and they are easy to fix:
* not advertise the walking rate and then make you rent a cart
* Stop over watering - there are spots where your ball disappears like it is in quicksand
* Put some sand in the bunker
* Clean up lose tree limbs and such

THis is a fun little coarse and I will keep playing it but a really focused maintenance crew could make a huge difference to make the coarse more enjoyable.

The greens were patchy with no grass at all in certain areas. The cart died on the 10th hole.
