Deteriorated condition
Watching the U.S. Open at Pinehurst, we see how penalizing the waste areas are off of the fairways. A drive down the middle of California Oaks will result in a similar situation. At least, the greens are green but incredibly slow.
$15 with a cart for 18 holes here would be a fair price.
Course was in rough shape
Had fun but the course was in really rough shape. It needs some TLC.
Following apart
This course just keeps getting worse. Tea boxes are so unlevel and hard. Nobody has cleaned them up broken tees from probably three weeks sitting no one cleaning up. So many gopher holes on the fairways it’s ridiculous.
Turned on sprinklers while playing
Went out and played a round of 18 with as a group of 4. Right as we were walking off the first green the sprinklers were turned on. It seems like they are just trying to save the greens at this point as most of the course is drying and the sands are heavily compacted. However, later in the round they kept turning on greens sprinklers while we were on the fairway, delaying the game and soaking the greens.
For $40 per person there are far better courses in the area. Go to Redhawk or Temecula Creek instead. What a joke.
Great course layout
The course has a lot of potential. I’m sure when it first opened it was a premiere golf course. However, it appears they only employ part-time groundskeepers. They work on the course just enough to call it a golf course. Greens are patchy and the rough are weeds, crabgrass, dirt. Since of the fairways have dirt patches. It’s a shape because the course layout is awesome. And the staff are friendly and helpful.
Warning, the absolute worst ever I have experienced
Warning this is not a golf course. There was a golf course there at one time, but this is not a golf course that is anywhere near being in condition to be played. I was completely flabbergasted by the condition of this track. The term goat track doesn’t even apply. GolfNow should not have this on their website. Do not play this or book this. It is a complete rip off and a waste of money and time, I’ve started caddying when I was 10 years old. I’ve built golf courses for Jack Nicholas and Donald Trump and I am ashamed of this project. Please do not book any teatime here you will be severely disappointed on top of it. They play frisbee golf at the same time their launching golf foursomes. It’s a frisbee golf course..
Terrible
Course is not kept up well. You can and will lose balls hitting the fairway! This place looks like it hasn’t been mowed or watered in a very long time. I will never play this course again and do not recommend to anyone else.
A lot harder course than you would think.
Apparently this course used to be just a par 3, but they changed it up for an 18 hole course. There are several holes where it gets really tight. A good challenging course and a really good price. Not the best kept course mind you. Can get dry and gophers are tearing up a lot of the fairways. In my opinion the worst part of the course is the club house. Not much there. A few choices for drinks, some chips, maybe a sandwich from 7-11. No drink cart on site.
Poorly maintained
Greens were the only thing decent on the course. Some of the tee boxes were just straight dirt. Way too much overgrown clover. Will not be returning.
