Friars/Presidio at Riverwalk Golf Club

Had a 640 tee time and John the starter was running the show by himself making sure everyone had everything before sending them. He was a awesome person to talk to and river walk is very lucky to have him. Greens are immaculate and the course was in great shape. Can’t wait to play again!!!

Other then letting a slow foursome out the back side as I made the turn after a great front nine, no complaints.

Due to a late decision the tee time was made the day before and an early tee time was available. The course in general were in average shape. The greens did putt true and consistent.

Played back when the course had three 9's, but I remember really enjoying the one time I played here previously. Came out with my Dad for Father's Day and had a blast. Course has a few tough holes, but overall is pretty forgiving. Greens were in amazing shape. I am coming from Phoenix where everything is dry, so it was nice when approach shots could actually hold. Would definitely come back.

Hadn't played this course in many years and looked forward to this return. I had forgotten how goofy some of those opening holes are. Water in places where maybe it shouldn't be. The brisk sea breeze reminded me of the :"we walked to school uphill both ways in the snow" line, as the breeze rarely seemed to be at our backs. Seriously, the front nine seemed to be particularly patchy on the fairways, but the greens, which I found fast and tough to read, were actually in great shape. The course did play well overall. The cart girl seemed to show up at the right time with food and beverages, and that rarely if ever seems to happen anywhere else. If I had played better, maybe I would have liked it more, and that, of course, is not fair. I will be back to try my luck again.

Some of the fairways under repair but greens are outstanding. Service at restaurant was great. This place is a great value not sure why people insist on giving it a bad rap. The course was very busy but the start times were extremely well managed.

Overall good experience. Lots of fairways were in average or below average conditions. Center of fairways muddy, cart path only on allot of holes, fungus on fairways everywhere. But pace of play was great, and greens were in pristine condition!!!

The greens were in great shape, fast and a bit challenging to find the proper line. It is walkable but I took a cart as the others in my group had them. If you really need a cart to get around be forewarned that many of the fairways on the par 4's and 5's were roped off from cart access--to protect repaired and recovering turf, I'm guessing. You may have to walk a ways to get to your ball.
