Great day in the sun. Photo submitted by DinoSheardown on 04/27/2020
Slow Play, Overpriced
Only reason I played on this day was because of the hot deal, otherwise I would never play this track. Green fees are just way too much for what you get. Also, play tends to be slow. On this day, we teed off 15 minutes late due to tournaments, and took 4 hours and 50 minutes to complete round. Had to wait for group ahead on every shot. Play was slow last time we played here a few months back. If you can get a hot deal and tolerate slow play, then it's worth the play.
Fun golf all the way
I used to play Coyote Hills 16 years ago when attending my master program at UCLA and loved this course however my golf level at that point was average. We returned to LA area for the Thanksgiving and was a truly pleasure to find out that course continues in nice shape and it is still a very fun course where multiple elevation changes, different slopes, challenging greens. Good maintenance, friendly staff and nice food.
nice course to play
very nice course in oc , course is excellent condition.
well done maintenance.
Fun course, poor pace of play
I played this course for the first time last week. I played a twilight round, and overall: it was a beautiful course with plenty of beautiful holes and challenging elevated tee boxes, the pro shop was full of friendly, helpful staff, however, the pace of play was very bad. I was backed up on the 8th tee box with 5 parties in front of me. I didn't tee off until about 35 minutes after I pulled up to the line. Great course, pay to go in the morning!
Need to have good straight drives
If longer it would make it more challenging ! I like it , it will test how good your short games is!
course is in great shape
Loved the layout and how well the course was maintained. For a senior the white tees make the course very fair.
Every staff person their is very helpful, professional, and very friendly.
They make you feel that your business is appreciated.
Long time coming.
It's been years and years that I've wanted to play this course. Glad to have finally made it happen. Was in pretty decent shape. Well groomed. A very fun lay out. Played from the whites. Plays short. Only hit driver maybe 4 times. Lots of lie angle and elevation changes. Plus, forced carries. GPS carts was a nice addition. Also, like how the range was right next to the 1st tee. Paid 75 on Golfnow for a 6:30 am tee time on a Saturday morning. Would say it was a somewhat fair rate. Would definitely return. Blues and black seemed to be much more challenging.
Great golf round except for the pace of play
had a wonderful golf round.. it would have been a lot better if not for the wait on the tee box in almost every hole.
Used to be one of my favorites
This is a difficult course for all average golfers. You need to have a marshall or 2 on the course helping to teach people the speed at which they need to play. At one holes, there were 8 carts on the tee. Crazy!
poor course management
This course could be great, but they simply don't manage the tee times, which ruins the pace of play. There is no Starter, they only have a person selling range balls next to the first tee and that person does not regulate groups going out. We arrived as the third group on the first tee with a group already on the green and another in the fairway. We compared notes with the two other groups on the tee to determine who had what tee time and teed off right on top of each other. It's really a shame because if they would just hire a Starter and regulate groups teeing off to ensure 10 minute gaps, this could be a great golf course.
Mediocre at best!
While this course had some interesting looks because of its hilly location, the course condition was mediocre and the pace of play horrendous. The course was simply to hard for your average hacker significantly resulting in searches for lost balls, etc!
Awesome!!!
My first time at coyote hills. Great course. Although expensive, will definitely go again.. And hide your Doritos and snacks, squirrels will steal em
Good course for the price
It's a course that enjoy playing has some difficult shots on it pretty wide fairways allowing you to miss enjoyed playing it with friends and family mainly for fun
Will plat again
This is a beautiful course with a great layout for interesting play. There is a drought, so be careful and only use you rescue 3 for a good number of holes, otherwise your ball will run into trouble. the greens are in great condition and easy. The Pro staff and range staff were friendly and helpful.
Squirelly Course
First time playing the course in 10 years. I remembered that I didn't like the course but thought I'd give it a shot. The course is in good condition and is scenic with nice views from elevated holes. The layout, however, makes me never want to play this course again. It is relatively short with a ton of blind shots off the tee and to the green. Almost all my approach shots from the fairway was on an uneven lie with the ball below or above my feet on a downhill or uphill lie.
I shot 10 over par but could of shot a lot better if I just played with my hybrid and 5 iron off the tee. Could be a fun course if you want to leave your $500 driver in the bag the whole round.
Saturday afternoon golf
Nice course but slow play an cart ran out of juice by 16th hole.
The course used to be in great shape.
Fairways are dried out & really hard.
No grass around the greens so it's really difficult for up & down. Half of the greens got punched which I don't mind but they didn't mentioned when we booked. Disappointed round for us.
One of SoCals top courses
The course is beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The views on the course are excellent. Can't wait to play again.
