Great day in the sun. Photo submitted by DinoSheardown on 04/27/2020
Very enjoyable round
Course in excellent shape. Greens deceptively quick. We were running late for our 11:50 tee time. Called ahead and no problem. Teed off probably around 12:30-12:45 and finished just as it was getting dark. Paid $62 for a Wednesday noonish round. A little pricey on the weekend, but they do have annual Coyote Club membership which pays for itself in 3-4 rounds. Worth it if you know you are gonna play there at least that often in a year.
Great course - mostly great staff - had a blast!
The course was excellent. The gentleman in the pro shop was awesome. The crotchety guy at the range shop not so much.
Once I got past the range guy, I had an absolute blast.
Will definitely be back!
Broken gps
Went out on a Sunday morning. Course was in great shape and beautiful facilities. The course comes equipped with gps on the cart (as advertised) however ours didn't work. We told the starter and were told it would reset. No joy. On hold #2 we asked the cart girl to see if she could get us another cart. She said they bring one out to us. No Joy. We ran into her again on the 8 th.hole and she said she notified them. We ended up trading carts at the turn. The staff in pro shop said sorry. I normally wouldn't complain but at $100 I would think they offer us free beer or somthing.
Great Value
Tee'd off at 2:35p on a twilight deal after work. Was able to finish 18. Pace of play was quick. Conditions couldn't have been better. One of my favorite courses to play.
Coyote Hills: Tee Times every 5 mins
Coyote hills was a fun and somewhat challenging course. It was in great shape other than some aerating we didnt know about. There were many elevation changes that added to the scenery. Food in the restaurant was good as well.
I would say the biggest negative is that they have tee times every 5 minutes. Some holes we played pretty quick and then would be backed up by 2-3 groups on other holes. That was with the tee times around ours not being filled.
Overall I would recommend the course. It was fun and challenging with plenty of views.
nice course, slow round
pace was extremely slow (6 hours) due to very slow group ahead. Marshal was not effective in speeding it up. Made for a very frustrating round.
Nice Layout
Layout was fun and challenging but not to hard. Bunkers have nice soft sand. greens were punched but still rolled really well.
Coyote Hills review.
This course is always a nice splurge to play every so often. One of my favorite courses.
Great course
Have played here a couple times, and have always been more than satisfied. Plays great for short players, and forces longer players to tee off with clubs other than a driver
fairways are horrible
fairways are horrible, greens are decent. layout is nice
Fun track with real drama!
Love the layout, lots of elevation, tight tee shots, good challenging greens. But the pace is always perfect. Played in 4 and a half!
pace of play terrible
Walked off after 7 holes and 2.5 hours. No one to move people along. Management was not interested in pace of play. 25 minutes wait on one hole alone, unbelievable.
Beautiful course
I cant wait to play this course again. It's expensive, but beautiful. If you don't want to pay the $98 then I would go for pacific palms, or diamond bar.
Beautiful Course, Friendly Staff
The scenery at Coyote Hills is amazing. Beautiful views from so many of the tee boxes.
As somewhat of a beginner, I normally play from the white tees, but it should be noted that the white tees here are much more forward than I am used to. I ended up playing about 7 or 8 holes from the blue tees to try to equate my game with what I've found to be more typical.
The staff here was great. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I had some issues with their system when booking my tee time that required me to call the course several times to make corrections. I didn't think it was a big deal, but the gentleman in the pro shop had the issue noted, and so he was quick with an apology and offered me a discounted greens fee.
All in all, playing here was a great experience, and I can't wait to come back next time I find myself in SoCal.
Has potential
Great layout and definitely challenging especially from tips. The course has some nice views. The conditions were average but not great. Many of the Greens had pocks and divots in them. Making many putts have to take a bumpy ride. Fairways were in OK shape with some patches of dead grass but that is expected due to the lack of rain. Overall the course has some great potential however for almost $100 a round I expected a little better condition especially on the greens. Also there could have been more signage directing those playing time. A conveniently located course between OC and LAX.
Course Has Serious Potential
Greens rolled perfectly but were a tad bit slow. First time playing the course and could tell the course has serious potential. Being that we are in a drought I understand the lack of water throughout the course and why it is a little brown. Overall layout is plush and challenging however and I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to work on shot shaping and short iron shots.
A tight target golf course
A great course for everyone with multiple tee boxes lots of sand and water. Bring an extra sleeve of golf balls. Noticed crews working on adding drainage pipes in sand traps and refilling with new sand. Good upkeep.
Good value of money if you get a deal
First time played here 4/17/2015. The course is short from the middle tee, somewhat around 5500 yards. The facility is really nice this including the club house, practice range, restaurant.
It is definitely easy to tell that the course design is well crafted, with challenging layout, narrow fairway and tough greens. The thing that makes me think it is not worth playing 70+ is the condition of the course. Fairways and most of the tee boxes are hard as rock. I literally had a shank tee shot because the hard ground knocked my club out of my hand.
Would prefer Black Gold with similar price.
Hidden Gem
Great Course, Great Prices, Pace of play sometimes is off. but for the price, i guess its ok. hard to finish 18 holes if played after 3:30pm. But one of the best courses around.
