Island Pointe Golf Club

Course is in great shape but dealing with the staff and pace of play makes the trip not worth it. They overbook then force you to partner up with others. I play at least once or twice a week between 6 different courses and they're the only ones still partnering you up with strangers. Bringing that concern up to the ranger is a waste of time, you'll just get a motivational speech and told to deal with it or go elsewhere so, ill just go elsewhere from now on. As far as the pace of play goes, expect the round to take 5 hours since they pile as many people into tee times as possible.

Loved this course! It was my first time here and it was a little challenging without being overly difficult. The paths cross a bit so some golfers drove by while we were teeing off on some holes. Other than that, I really enjoyed the layout and each hole.

First time playing here in several years under new ownership group

The last time I played the course was in really sad shape and staff was there to take your money and not hear your concerns

New staff is making strides to bring this gem back to its former shine. The staff is much more welcoming to outsiders than the old group

Within a year with ongoing work I see, this place should be back to its former glory

Strange that the first tee time is at 8AM but the staff to open the clubhouse didn't arrive until 7:45. Never seen so many golfers just standing around wondering what to do

Clubhouse worker was not very friendly

Checkin Ranger was crazy. Held us for 10 minutes, yelling at us to come over to him before we even got clubs on carts. Once got to him he couldn’t hear well. Friend was on phone and he told him to hang up because he could hear his radio. We were a 3 some and he made the single who was joined with us ride in our cart. I complained and said we don’t want to share cart and he said he wouldn’t have enough carts if he didn’t ride with us. There were 30 plus empty carts. We barely had time to hit some balls because he kept us so long. Get rid of the super ranger.

Guys in front of us were all going to one ball at a time to hit. Took 5 hours to play. Beverage cart girl was a no show that day as well.

The cart wrangler started the entire ordeal. He confused an easy operation of getting your cart and score card. The pace of play was unbearable. We stopped atfetr hole 12. This is a beautiful course and I love playing it. Hopefully they can separate the tee tines a bit and get rid of the cart wrangler.

Course is in the best shape it’s been in for a long time. The crew has been working on getting it back to what it used to be and they are 99.99% there. With the exception of a few bunkers this course is definitely a top 3 best corses of East Tennessee. Pay the money and don’t skip the opportunity..

Very well manicured fairways and greens. Stay in play or you are in the trees. Love the layout of this course. Bridges need repair while driving across with golf carts though.

I work at another area Golf Course and like to play around Town. Island Pointe GC (River Island) is in great shape, and only showing signs of getting better. I played it early in the season and the greens were slower than I prefer. Today, the course was wet and the greens were slick. The fairways are what you expect, lush, green and always giving you that perfect lie. I like the zoysia which is different from my course and the others.

It's clear the course is improving each month as the maintenance guys are always out working. It's nice to see... Looking forward to playing again soon on my next day off. Well worth the money. Good job guys, keep up the good work!

good layout but the course is in dire need of maintenence, The bridges crossing the river are scarey.

The course has some amazing views. Enjoyed the course. Don't love their policy on tee times. I had to pay for our foursome and my buddy cut his hand the day before so we only had 3 come to play. They made me pay for his tee time as well. seemed unreasonable. That messed up my flow for the day for sure.
