Island Pointe Golf Club

I've always enjoyed this course. Fantastic layout and the best fairways in East Tennessee. I'd not been to the course since it changed management and name (from River Islands to Island Pointe), and took advantage of an unusually warm December day. Pleased to see the fundamental layout of the course in tact, as I found myself saying, "I love this hole" on so many tee boxes (holes 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16, and 17), with the others not exactly ordinary. I also expect the course to become even more beautiful all around, as crews were trimming branches, taking out brush, and thinning thickets. It's always been a unique track and a special place; I'm excited to see them doing more work to make it even better.

This course never disappoints because it’s always being taken care of and the layout of the course is so interesting !

Beautiful setting but terrible management. Pace of play was a joke. Play somewhere else if the weather is good.

Island Pointe is a hidden gem of a golf course. The unique course lay out is only one reason to golf here. The five man staff does an amazing job of maintaining the course in a great condition. The greens were immaculate and the fairways were in great condition for mid-November.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this course. We were traveling from Michigan on our way to Florida and stopped to play as we always enjoy playing here. Course was in great shape and the staff were very friendly. The food truck was a great addition to the course.

The course is a must play and offers great conditions from the range to the course. I would recommend a marshal or ranger on the weekend. We played the front 9 with a 10:40 tee time and had a great pace and good play. We made the turn and ran into a log jam on the back nine. Mostly from teens hitting multiple balls from the tees and fairways. Also, they were abusing the course. We played up to hole 11 and left due to the slowness of play. It’s hard to stay in Rythm when this type of stuff happens on the course. Generally, you let folks play thru if your slower but that day it was multiple young groups not respecting the game or course. Definitely if your a competitor of golf, play on the weekday. Beautiful course and will go back just not on the weekend.

Great Course, don't let my 1 star rating deter you from playing here as this is not normal. Today was just a bad day and there was a lot of frustration (4 groups on 1 tee box with a group in the fairway and a group on the green) 1 hour 40 minutes to play last 5 holes. Really need to figure out something on the "food", $15 for a chicken salad sandwich fries and a can of soda is ABSURD!!! I do plan ahead on that aspect of things. Course is in immaculate shape and the crew is still making some some updates. Definitely need to play this course if you are ever in the area.

Very challenging and a very well-maintained golf course. Well definitely come back and play this course again! The scenery on various holes is beautiful.
