No raincheck for sick 4th

I called to book a tee time, and was instructed that I could only book tee times through golfnow. I booked a 10:50 tee time 3/26 (off season, wide open tee sheet) for 4 players and paid $256. Morning of, our 4th called out sick. Upon arrival I requested a raincheck for paying for our 4th player, but was denied. Although I understand the 24 hour rule and the reason the course uses the service due to no shows, but I was unimpressed the course would not honor a rain check and punished those who did show up. Even after noting that a rain check would bring me back in the future, with additional paying guests, the course refused to work with me. Poor management and bad business. Fun course, wont be back.

Not bas for time of the year

Course was not bad considering the time of year and recent weather. Only thing negative was that the range was closed without any mention when booking tee time. Range time before starting round is important to myself and playing partners.

Always a Special Course, Possibly Getting Even Better

I've always enjoyed this course. Fantastic layout and the best fairways in East Tennessee. I'd not been to the course since it changed management and name (from River Islands to Island Pointe), and took advantage of an unusually warm December day. Pleased to see the fundamental layout of the course in tact, as I found myself saying, "I love this hole" on so many tee boxes (holes 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16, and 17), with the others not exactly ordinary. I also expect the course to become even more beautiful all around, as crews were trimming branches, taking out brush, and thinning thickets. It's always been a unique track and a special place; I'm excited to see them doing more work to make it even better.

Worst pace of play in East Tennessee

Beautiful setting but terrible management. Pace of play was a joke. Play somewhere else if the weather is good.

Thanks for joining us the day after Christmas on such a beautiful afternoon!

It's unfortunate you felt the pace of play was a joke and that our management was terrible. I understand you played as a twosome at starting at 1pm. The staff at Island Pointe G.C. does its very best to remind our patrons that the golf course can take 4.5 hours to play given the challenge and overall size of the golf course. Also, as a twosome, it often feels like pace is never just right when you are playing behind a course full of foursomes. As golfers we understand finding your rhythm can take time on busy golf course. After reviewing the log sheets of our starter / rangers and talking with our staff, it appears things operated well.

If there is something you believe we could've done better, please give us a call and talk to us as we value the feedback. In the interim, if you typically like to play faster, try scheduling a morning tee time and I am sure you will notice a difference. Most of our morning rounds are able to finish in 4 hours, and sometimes less.
