About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

The food court woman has a wonderful personality and was pleasant to talk to. Starter (Larry) was a hoot and he will get his donut holes on Wednesday Charles Burke. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Rough rough
I've played Pala Mesa off and on for over 30 years. First time I've seen the rough this high. Almost lost the ball several times if off the fairway. Green weren't as fast as I'm use to on this course, but still rolled very well. Play was somewhat slow because we were a foresome and had a 2-some in back of us we let go ahead. Saw more 2-somes out there and it's hard to let them go through. Still a fun course that tests your golfing ability. They seemed to have raised the price since the beginning of Covid. Only played because of the $25 off because Roy McElroy and golfnow. $57 is a little high for this course. We didn't come for a while because they didn't allow carts. Now they don't allow you to drive in the fairway on a lot of holes. What happened to 90 degree rule?

Decent local course - mid level experience
Fun golf course. There are not a lot of amenities here and the golf carts are ridiculous with their GPS controls. The price without a discount is on the high side compared to other courses which are significantly better in quality. The course is challenging though and a lot of fun. Worth playing for sure.

Very nice course
Had a great time today. Only complaint is the bunkers are compacted and not very playable. I was unfortunately in a few today and each time the club would bounce into the ball instead because of the firmness. The greens are still recovering from the aerification making them very slow instead of the typical fast greens here. Would definitely recommend it to friends and will absolutely be back. Great course and great staff from the pro shop, starter, beverage cart and snack bar.

Very Nice Facility
This is old style course with mature trees, tight fairways and tricky greens. The greens were punched a 10-14 days ago but were rolling nice and almost fully recovered. The fairways are hit and miss in regards to consistency but growing in nicely. Bunkers but bare and hard in places and could use some new sand. Aaron in the pro shop was very friendly and accommodating. The pace of play was excellent and will play here again soon.

Cart path only
Being a senior (78 yrs old) the first and 6 hole were cart path only which was okay.
But the problem is the cart will stop on other hole for no reason. This is second time I’ve played Pala Mesa the first time we talk to desk and the young men look at me as to say tuff.

Disappointed
What was once a very nice course has gone downhill over the years. The greens which are normally very fast we’re punched and sanded, so no real way to measure them, although when booking it, it would’ve been nice to know this from Golf Now.
The fairways we’re pretty crappy, like mowed fields. I don’t think I’ll play this course again unless I hear they’ve improved it, too many nice courses to play for equal or better value.

Great round
Went to Pala Mesa today with the guys I met at the tee box. Fun round, sand and takes in sand traps. Green’s we’re much slower from my last round. Looks like that punched the greens recently. Overall course was in good shape.

Starting A-hole
I should have known it wasn't going to be a good round when we were already getting crap from the starter. This guy is runner up for a-hole starter of the year. No smile, no sense of humor, and a thorough inspection of the cart, looking for a cooler, alcohol, drinks, sandwiches from outside the course.
Course was punched and $50 was the hot deal discount.
Fairways and tee boxes were in bad shape.
No longer that hidden gem off the 15.

Work in progress
The greens were recently air rated which is acceptable, the incredible chunks of sand on the greens was not. There were quite a few maintenance workers there taking care of things which is good, the fact that they park their carts 6 inches off the green and wave you on to go ahead and hit is not acceptable.
This is a nice place that just needs a little bit more work to move to the next level
