Course is fun, people are great. The tee boxes are all under repair though

Paid $175 for a Saturday tee time at 12:20. Should have been no more than $80 for this quality of a course. Played in a foursome with friends. Fine experience except for ranger “Al”. He drove up on us as my playing partner was moving his ball off a dirt patch on the drivable par 4 8th hole mumbling something about a penalty for an unplayable lie if he moved his ball. Thanks Al. He then asked what our tee time was and said we were playing too slow because the tee in front of us was open. We told him that the group in front of us had teed off early and was already off the first hole before we had tee off at our scheduled time. Also the group behind us was not even at the tee yet. He aggressively sped off toward the tee behind us and returned as we were walking off the green saying the group behind us was pulling up to the tee. Again, thanks Al. At this point he repeated we were playing too slow and that we needed to catch up to the group in front of us. At this point we reminded him that we had teed off 20 min behind the group in front of us. Again he seemed to have no comprehension of what we were telling him and told us to speed up play. We finished the front 9 in 1 hour 50 minutes. Pretty reasonable for a foursome. We stopped at the turn to pick up our sandwiches we had ordered ahead of time. One of my playing partners heard Al over the starter‘a radio questioning if we had stopped at the turn for food. Thanks Al. We ended up catching up to the threesome in front of us after 14. Al was nowhere to been seen telling them to play faster. We finished the round under 4 hours. We played at the same pace the whole round. Never saw the threesome behind us either again and I ended up shooting 76 in probably my last round at Strawberry Farms.

All other members of staff were great especially the starter on duty when we came through at the turn who told us not to worry about “Al”. Appreciate him I’m sure he’s had to deal with the fallout from Al’s on course conduct before. Won’t play here for over $80 again. Just not worth it.

Was disappointed with the condition of the course definitely not worth $175 this is more like a $50 course

Since I left my last review about my putting green encounter I was contacted by the General Manager Patti Ross. She called to apologize for the treatment I received and assured me the employee had been disciplined. The fact that she would pick up the phone to call me spoke volumes of her concern and restored my faith in her operation.

Good experience overall. Course conditions were good from tee to green. Layout not too difficult from blues except for a couple holes. Free range balls with range and putting green in close proximity. Good deal if you can get under $50 last minute with Golfnow.

They have a great covid-19 policy where you take single carts and most employees wore face masks. Course was in great shape although it was a little wet in certain areas even though we played in the afternoon. The greens ran very smoothly and probably played around a 9 on the stimpmeter. Not overly fast but putts would get away from you if not careful. Tees and traps were in good shape. I recommend playing winter rules in the sand as there can be foot prints as they don't have rakes with the covid precautions. Fairways were in good shape as well. The back nine is very fun with a variety of holes. A great day with a pace of play just around 4 hours.

This course has an interesting layout. The course is in excellent condition. Greens were in very good shape but played a little slow. Fairways were generous but a stray shot generally resulted in a lost ball. Hole # 10 which is entirely along the Strawberry reservoir is breathtaking and any shots left or attempt to cut the dogleg are likely to end up in the water.

The clubhouse was busy but well staffed. A bit unfriendly to non-members but not rude, just felt a little like an unwanted guest. Played with some very nice OC residents (non-members) and will definitely play here again.

After finishing my round I grabbed my putter to practice for a few minutes. I was immediately approached by an attendant named Tony who asked if I had a tee time. I told him I just concluded my round to which he told me I was not allowed to putt. I told him I didn’t get a chance to putt before the round and he snapped back at me in a disrespectful tone that he would “allow” me 10 minutes to putt as that was city regulations. I told him I just played another course in the same city and they didn’t have that rule. He told me In a condescending tone that maybe I should go over there and putt and if I was nicer he would have let me put longer than 10 minutes. Wow, really!? It wasn’t what he said but how he said it. Very unprofessional and completely lacking in customer service skills. After paying $115 for a round of golf and then interacting with this gem. Very disappointed....

A very nice course! I any golfer would appreciate the atmosphere! I certainly will play again when I return! Check it out for yourself!
