Great course on a deal
Got the hot time for $80, love the course. They could do a better job about asking the slower groups to speed up. Overall though the pace was still pretty good, just could of been a bit better.
Strawberry Farmst
It was like we played 2 different courses.
The front nine was very straight forward , but
The back nine was very challenging.
Thank goodness I paid a “hot” rate
Booked a 10:50 tee time on a Monday. Got there early to hit a few balls and grab a bloody before I went on the course. So far so good. The starter told me we may be a bit delayed as he “squeezed” a few people in ahead of us. That “squeeze” eventually ruined our round. By the 11th hole, we were the 4th group in line waiting to tee off on the par 3. Took close to 30 minutes to even get to the tee box. The Marshall later drove up and after informing him of the slow play, he replied “we can’t tell them to play faster”. Had I not been paired up with another single (who was grouped in the same cart) I would’ve left at the 15th. The Bloody Mary I got before the round was good however. Would’ve been nice if there were a snack cart to bring me another one...
Challenging
You need to hit them straight. Not much forgiveness. Knowing the course would have been helpful.
Great Day of Golf
Most people were scared off by rain in the forecast. The rain didn’t worsen the playing conditions at all.Only saw three other groups on the course and we finished within 3 Hours 20 min. It’s a rarity for rain in So Cal. But I suggest playing on a day of theee is possible rain because if it doesn’t end up that bad. It can be a fun yet fast round . Great greens and course layout with good views. I will be back again
Solid course but overpriced
course was in solid shape and pace of play was great for southern california. A bit overpriced at $85 prepaid rate, definitely at $110 golfnow rate. For a course built in 1997, ive never seen a more poorly designed cart path. On a lot of holes, you end up having to walk 50+ yards to get to the green from the path, very strange.
The Berry
Got a great deal on Golf Now to play Strawberry for $40. Tees off at 2pm and just got in at sunset. Course is in good shape, a few wet spots, greens are typical for SB. Great track, always a challenge. Shot a 74 with two doubles and an eagle.
good time
overall the course and pace of play were great. the greens were not recovering from footprints but there has been a lot of rain lately and not much you can do.
One thing that was quite disturbing was seeing mowers coming right at you without guards on the blades! I personally know of a golf pro who lost an eye because a rock was shot from a mower with our a blade guard. No excuse for this.
Fun Round with Out of Towners
Played on a perfectly cloudy day with a local and two out of towners. Everyone was very nice as we enjoyed the company. The staff was very friendly and service was top notch. There was a beverage cart as well. I love Strawberry Farms and will be back as soon as I can.
Challenging needs modernization
This golf course has great natural layout, fun to play. However, for the golfers not quite familiar with the course, no gps offered makes yardage guess quite challenging. More so, the signal level is not strong enough for most popular gps equipment. Suggest the Club considering add god on the cart.
Strawberry Farm - good but not great
The course is very challenging if you cannot keep the ball in the fairway. Course conditions are good but not excellent. Greens were in very good shape and very fast.
Great layout for a fun day
Course was a bit drier and had more brown spots than usual but greens and tee boxes were good. Greens still showed some signs of the last punching but overall rolled well. Always a fun layout and plenty of risk reward shots to execute. Highly recommend and the restaurant has good food also.
Disappointment
Not sure what the hype and price point are about.
Only fair condition and nothing special.
Great Course. A Lot of Fun to Play.....
Strawberry Farms is a very nice, very challenging course. When we played on 21 Oct it was in great shape and we got around in a little over four hours. All of the staff, the guy at the bag drop, the people in the pro shop & the beverage cart lady were all very friendly. In my opinion it’s worth playing and I would certainly recommend playing it.
You get what you pay for
Amazing. Happy to see a high quality course like this available on Golfnow, was even happier playing it.
