Underwhelmed
Usually fun golf course. Greens were in bad shape.
Wasn’t worth the money. Rather frustrating
Excellent Day Slightly Tainted by Slow Play
Had a fantastic day out at Strawberry Farms today. Grabbed the $85 hot deal which is the way to go. Better than paying the $125+ to play here. In saying that, this course is one of my favourites in the Area. Customer service was brilliant. Cart ladies were excellent. We had a slow group in front right from the opening tee shot. Was getting quite frustrated but the Marshall was right onto it and got play moving for us.
Greens were the best I’ve probably ever played. Ran so smooth but had moisture in them so you could stick your approach shots and check them up with spin. Fairways were really lush and balls sat up like carpet.
Will definitely keep coming back for the discounted rates. October is definitely the best time of the year to play here
This course is beautiful and fun
We had a great time playing this beautiful course.
All of the employees are great. I definitely recommend Strawberry Farms.
Great Course Bad Staff
Showed up for their back 9 and breakfast deal 30 minutes after sunrise and they said that I was too late. They said that regular tee times were already on the back nine which is hard to believe. Let's just say they are no longer getting my business if they continue these shenanigans.
Decent Track- but overpriced
Decent enough layout and staff is friendly- played in 4 hours- on a Tuesday morning.
It’s just an average golf course though, and definitely overpriced compared to what else is out there. No GPS on the carts, which I get, I have a range finder, but at least give you a course layout on the scorecard, the course has enough blind shots and risk reward tee shots - that they should give a golfer new to the course there an idea of how the hole should be played. There’s just better courses for the money in the area.
Morning round
Played early and course was in great condition. Greens are soft and fast which makes it a lot of fun. Pace was good since we were early. Finished under 4 hrs. Would recommend playing but may need to play again as some holes help to have played a few times.
Fabulous Back 9!
Although the front 9 has its challenges, it acts more of a warm up for the back 9, really nothing too memorable on the front. However, the back 9 has amazing views, and more challenging holes, definitely added a few more strokes on the back. Great finishing hole!
Pace of play was about 5 hours, which was surprising for a Monday morning round.
I was able to jump on with the resident rate, which is decent for the course but I don’t think the course is worth the non-resident rate. So if you are not a local and would like to tryout this course, I recommend trying to find a deal.
Side note: I HIGHLY recommended their Huevos Rancheros!
Good course, would never pay full price
Way too expensive for a slightly above average layout
Terrible facility and management
We teed off as a twosome at 6:08 AM, were asked to tee off early and not hit the range balls we had purchased. First hole was fine. The second hole the sprinklers were on on the fairway, which was troubling as weren't the first group out. We waited on the tee box for a few minutes waiting for the sprinklers to be turned off. Once were closer to the green the sprinklers came back on behind us, not a big deal just strange. The 4th hole had a grounds keeper, with his work cart parted on the green, with a hose snaking across the entire green. We waited expecting that once he had seen us, he would move out of the way. He never moved. Hit onto the green, he continued watering, not moving his hose. Started putting and were forced to play around his hose. Right as we finished the hole the same grounds keeper moved on to the following green, and then the next and the next, continuing the same behavior. I called the club house and talked to the manager Jay and told him what was going on. He apologized and said he would call the super and take care of it. Nothing ever improved, in fact it escalated with three different times on different fairways with another grounds keeper driving by us while mowing the fairways. On top of having to play around the staff the course was extremely wet, balls landing and splashing in the mud as they sink down into the grass on fairways and around the green. Two of the tee boxes were so over watered that they were flooded and couldn't be used. The greens were so wet that it made noise as we walked on it.
At the end of the round we went into the clubhouse to talk to the manager. He told us that when you play in the morning that is what happens at every course and that the staff has been there for more than 5 years and know to get out of golfers way. We showed him the pictures we took of the stagg not moving and he politely told us that what we had pictures of didn't happen.
He offered us a free round in the future if we would like to come back, which we declined. With the process of this course I expected .USB more and would strongly advise staying far away. It would be a much better choice to play Oak Creek, which is near by instead.
First timer
Course was nice. Next time would no where to hit the ball a couple holes you can drive through the fairway .
Enjoyed this course
Staff were friendly and professional. Course was in excellent condition and pace of play was very good. Would play here again.
Great course for the money
3 of us had a tee time at 8:00am, we played in 4:05. We really enjoyed the landscape and views. As a player with a 14 handicap, it was a very enjoyable course that was challenging but not impossible.
Good Course
Played on Monday,
Course in great shape. Greens fast but not crazy quick. Pace of play good ( four hours).
Note for seniors ($69).
Well worth the money for a good course!
Not a great experience
We booked a 9:50 tee time. The course was running over an hour late. We teed off at 11:00 which really was horrible. When checking in they did not inform us that they were running late and so we bought range balls and warmed up. Only for them to tell us at 9:50 that they had “some” groups in front of us. Ok I can understand a couple groups... but some turned out to be over 8. We sat around.... all of us cooled down and we considered not even playing yet we still played.
Turns out it wasn’t a good idea to play. One of our foursome ends up pulling out his back on the first tee. Maybe because we sat around for over an hour after we warmed up.
Bad experience. Doubtful I will ever return to strawberry.
Horrible third experience
Short, sweet, and to the point...
Great layout and pace. Horrible conditions. Overpriced. Extremely rude staff.
Would I return? No.
