About
Cimarron's Boulder course is desert in location, but almost links in feel. It's hard to imagine even the most beer-cart-fueled hacker thinking they're in Scotland. Considering the bright sun, the striking San Jacinto Mountains and all. But …
"We've had many golfers tell us it reminds them of the British Open," head pro Jason Janke said. "For what we have in the desert, this is probably the closest course to that."
At 6,782 yards from the back tees, Cimarron challenges with length and accuracy. It's wise to keep your ball in the fairway here or you'll get some up-close desert views. Still with three par 4s over 450 yards and two par 5s over 560 yards, bombing away with your driver is anything but completely ignored.

Enjoyed this course.
I am a 1 hdcp and I took my elderly dad there to play. He was able to maneuver the golf course fairly easily and with the wide fairways it was fun to play. It is a challenging golf course with good conditions and good green speeds. Good practice facilities, nice bar, good food, nice staff. When playing there expect to not get a cart until right before your tee time. They don’t have enough carts for both golf courses but the staff do a great job of turn and burn their carts. I recommend giving it a try, just don’t be in a hurry.

Interesting / Challenging Layout
An interesting course with a lot of variety and challenge in the layout. The “Valley of Despair” was in play for about five of the holes, making for an additional challenge off the tee. We saw Roadrunners, Rabbits, and Ducks on several of the holes. One additional benefit was that each golf cart was equipped with an accurate GPS. Overall, a great day golfing that I would recommend to anyone visiting the Palm Springs area.

It was a cold rainy windy day. Course was in good shape except for the sand traps that had chunks of gravel n them. The sand was extra heavy from the rain, but no excuse for the gravel.

Need more help
Last year there was tons of help. This year in the bar restaurant there was just one girl handling the whole place.

Interesting / Challenging Layout
Overall, a good combination of hole layouts, distances, and features (sand, water, bushes, etc). A few of the holes involved the “Valley of Despair”, certainly both a mental and a physical challenge. With the open layout and relatively good conditions (fairways and greens), the course is forgiving and there is a relatively low chance of losing a ball. One extra feature was that all carts came with a gps (that was as accurate as my phone app).

Crabby staff and slow play ruined the day for me
Our tee time was 12:51, and we didn’t tee off until 1:15 because there were not enough carts and a backup on the starting hole. Staff were rude and run off their feet trying to find carts for everyone.. although the course was in good shape, the pace of play 4 hours 40 minutes) made it a disappointing day all around.
As mentioned above, my main concerns were the 25 minute delay in teeing off because there were no carts available and staff were quite rude (probably because they didn't have enough carts and people were not happy about it). I realize sometimes things get backed up, but if staff had explained the delay when we arrived and apologized for it, then it wouldn't have been a big deal. Instead, they were brusque and implied it was our fault that we wanted a cart. The pace of play was also a concern and we didn't see a marshall all afternoon so it appears no one cared that is was a 4 hour 40 minute round.

Need more golf carts
Had a tee time at 1:44 and had to wait for golf carts to come in so teed off at 2:10 and didn’t finish 18.

Not well organized.
Lack of carts. Had to carry clubs to practice greens. Indifferent and borderline rude staff. Will not return.
