Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
About
Cimarron's Boulder course is desert in location, but almost links in feel. It's hard to imagine even the most beer-cart-fueled hacker thinking they're in Scotland. Considering the bright sun, the striking San Jacinto Mountains and all. But …
"We've had many golfers tell us it reminds them of the British Open," head pro Jason Janke said. "For what we have in the desert, this is probably the closest course to that."
At 6,782 yards from the back tees, Cimarron challenges with length and accuracy. It's wise to keep your ball in the fairway here or you'll get some up-close desert views. Still with three par 4s over 450 yards and two par 5s over 560 yards, bombing away with your driver is anything but completely ignored.

Nice course, great staff!
We really enjoyed playing the Boulder Course, we were paired up with 2 great guys and made the round fun.
Limited beverage cart available, no water on the course, out has porta potty's, so the amenities are limited, but great views and course was in great shape!
Very very slow play!!! Gut wrenching actually! Fairways great shape and greens but not that fast!
Slow to no service at the patio prior to play!
Carts are to be returned by 515pm sue to sunset I guess! Guy out pulling the pins from all greens at 515pm and sprinklers coming on while chipping onto 18! If they had a Marshall out there maybe you’d be able to get it in before dark! Would not recommend playing it!! So many other options to play in Palm Springs other than this one !!
Always good
I play here as a warm up for other courses in PS.
Was in good shape again. Very busy but was a Saturday so makes sense.
Great value for the money!
Lacks amenities
No return to club house at turn so no amenities. Multiple holes where you walk back to carts so slows play a lot.
The course
With addition of outdoor bathroom facilities and about 200 palm trees, this could be an excellent course. It’s wide open and far inferior to so many other courses in the Palm Springs area.
I would only recommend it to a friend if they find a great price for the course.

Played Blues makes for some long holes
ALWAYS ENJOY golfing here
Great value in the desert
For a hacker like me this was a good course. Few trees, not much water. Perfect fairways tees and greens. Some bunkers could use more sand. Great practice facility. Excellent service. Will definitely play again.
Summertime golf in February!
No wind, wide open fairways and a good pace with an over packed course. Felt a bit worried when carts were coming in one by one and going out the same way but once we began play things spread out and only backups at the usual parr threes. It also helped that the twosome ahead of us quit play to hit the bar!
Great conditions and well maintained fairways and greens made for a very nice day.
Waiting for carts before round was not good…too nice of course to have this kind of shortage !!!
Good Course
Nice track usually in good condition. Greens were fairly quick.
cimmaron
sunset 5:00 p.m. they turn the sprinklers on at 5:15. Do nothing to improve pace of play or warn you that if you have a 1:30 tee time you will not finish 18
Not great value
For $100 I was expecting something more than a course that plays down one side of an arroyo and back up the other. Lots of straight-ahead par fours on the front nine, with a bit more variety on the back. Good views of the mountains. Home of the five-hour round, not helped by the fact that we weren't able to tee off till 20 minutes after our scheduled tee time. Crowded. Lots of people using the practice range.
