Course maintenance well hidden
Hole 15 is closed for repair but the course uses alternate hole to allow 18 hole experience. Interesting holes that challenges average golfer from White Tee box. Great deal!
Terrible shape
This was an awful conditioned course played at St. John's country club and royal st Augustine the same weekend and they were awesome shape!!!!!
Course was clean and maintenance was be performed!
I played on a Tuesday and the grounds keepers were busy cutting and trimming. Some standing water throughout the course, the 15th hole was shutdown for maintenance (the entire top of the green was removed). Some minor spots on 5 or more greens needed attention. It may sound like a shabby course, but I would and will play the course again.
Decent course
The course was pretty decent. Booking off GolfNow lowered the price enough to play. Otherwise, I probably would not have gone. The course was set up nicely with some pretty big hazards. Due to some maintenance, there was some extra noise on a couple holes. But overall, the grounds crew was kind enough to cut the mowers off while playing the holes. The fairways didn't allow for many extra yards on the rolls and the greens were pretty slow. Overall the course was worth a shot.
Great course
The course was in great shape and open enough for a Sunday golfer like me to really enjoy. Beautiful scenery.
Wide Fairways
Tee boxes and fairways are all in good condition...(hole #15 is being worked on)...other than that, good condition. Greens are quite slow and minor rough patches but it's only because of a recent overseeding. Good value for the money we paid.
Good course
Good course, they're working on a few of the holes but have moved things around to still offer up a good 18 holes.
course has great visuals in convenient location
everything about the course was better than good .....
p.s. the greens need a little more work to make it a great exerience
Beautiful course.
I played this course on one of the most beautiful days possible. It was a fun course, it great condition.
Greens recovering nicely
Disappointed they had to eliminate the third nine for lack of play.
Course seemed to offer few suprise hazzards, what you see is what you get. Will play again soon.
Fine course for an intermediate player
Enjoyed the play - I only get out a few times a year - but I played one of my best games on this course. No real challenges - but great practice. I was on my own, and ended up playing through groups. There was a ladies league and they insisted on playing through me - so I ended up waiting a lot - then did the front 9 again. Starter was really nice.
They just punched the greens.
Because the greens were just aerated, I'd wait a couple of weeks before playing again. Everything is in good shape and the course plays fair. An interesting course and one of the prettiest public courses around.
It was a good test of golf
My wife and I had a tee time at 2:04 PM on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time. The course was fair especially for my wife who played from the red tees. I played the gold tees which was the tips and enjoyed it very much.
What a shame
What a difference a month makes. St. Johns is my most convenient golf course, and with GOLFNOW rates it would be the best bargain in town. Sad to say in one month the greens have gone from excellent to horrid. I can only guess that it's a fungus or rot of some kind. The greens are half green sand or green spray. The tee boxes are ok and the fairways are in nice condition. Again, what a shame!
nice easy course that doesn't break the bank
Staff was friendly, the greens were fast and challenging, there was a nice amount of hazards, made for an easy fun experience and I would definitely recommend this course to a friend who was just starting to learn to play
Not a bad course for the money
Played yesterday (a Sunday around 2:30pm) and we seemed to be the only people on the course. No one in front or behind us so we were able to play 18 holes in under 4 hours. Fairways and tee boxes are ok, but greens definitely need attention. They are lightning quick but mostly because of how dead the grass is. Looks as if they tried cutting it too short and everything died. The course as a whole is pretty easy - lot of room to miss off the tee and for approach shots. Also, whatever is going on with holes 13-15 is a bit hard to follow - could be marked a lot clearer. Otherwise, for the money 9we paid $22), this is pretty good value. When you can pay that little and play a decent course in under 4 hours, it's tough to beat.
Some of the holes are very picturesque.
It's a great course when you can get it for a discount. Otherwise it's on the pricey side for us. Very rarely does it go on discount.
