Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club
About
Ever since it debuted in 2003 and started earning raves for being one of Northwest Florida's premier courses. This semi-private layout is the star amenity of an 800-acre residential development that touches Choctawhatchee Bay. Robert C. Walker, formerly the lead architect of Arnold Palmer's design company, laid out Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club amidst a nature preserve near the south shore of the bay. While you'll feel the breezes as you play this stalwart of Florida's Emerald Coast region, the water views during the round are of the wetlands, streams and manmade lakes that lend beauty and challenge to the game here. Plenty of trees, bulkheads lining the hazards and bright white sand in the predominantly shallow bunkers add extra aesthetic panache when you play at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. With so much water and trouble all around, you'll need to execute numerous forced carries on your drives and approach shots. A couple of holes feature island-like fairways. Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club delivers a classic brand of Florida target-style golf, though it's a challenge everyone can enjoy. Moderately skilled players will be relieved that some of the hazards and shot prospects seem more intimidating than they really are. The game at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club comes to a crescendo finish. On the tricky par-4 16th you must avoid the water on the left and the marsh that crosses the fairway. While the redesigned 17th may be a drivable par 4 for long hitters, for most players the primary task is executing a forced-carry tee shot over water that finds the fairway in a spot short of the bunkers that intercede before the green. The finishing hole at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a reachable ball 5 that hooks around a large lake with the green tucked hard by the hazard. It's the last test of a day of golf filled with strong and intriguing holes. The club's extensive practice facilities include a golf academy with a canopy cover and a nice clubhouse with a lakefront restaurant that's ideal for winding down after your game. It's no wonder that Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is such a popular place to play in golf-rich Destin.

Great time
The course was excellent for February. The place was spot on, no waiting in between holes. The cart gal came around frequently and was very nice. A great day over all!
Always a safe bet
3rd time playing Regatta Bay and for the courses in the area this is one of our favourites. Greens are kept a bit longer than other places so the roll is slower so get to the practice area ahead of time and get used to it. For dormant season the greens are in good shape unlike other nearby courses. Would play again
Great shape
Greens were slow, but overall in great shape for this time of year!
Bad Green Speed
Love this course but this is the worst green speed I have experienced on such a great layout. Probably around 4 on the stimp meter. Really disappointing.
Needs a marshal on the course.
We like to get there early and have lunch in the bar then go practice and take off. Usually this works well for us. Everything was going great untill the back nine. On the back nine we had three groups in front of us quit because of slow play ahead of them. We found out when we got to 16 and we saw a fivesome in front of us with music blasting. It took us over an hour to finish. They were all over the course and playing herd golf. Really could have used a marshal. Left us with a sour taste.
Regatta Bay 2
Best course for winter play. With the value pricing this makes a good value. Always in very good condition and an awesome staff takes good care of you.
Great, Friendly Staff
People from bag drop/cart area to front desk in club house, to course starter we’re all very accommodating and friendly.
Course appeared to be affected by recent weather conditions. Unfortunate because was well layed out and challenging.
Love Regatta Bay however it would be nice if the course let us know at booking that the greens were being sanded.
Best Course in the Area
Beautiful course, in excellent condition, staffed by very friendly people. The course was quite busy, but we still finished in 4 hours. The number of different tees allows almost every level of golfer to have an appropriate challenge.
This course has no boring holes
The course is in amazing shape and every hole has challenges. There is plenty of birdie holes with good shots and big greens. The greens being big still play small with all the different subtle ridges. This is one of my top courses to play in the area!! There is also some big number holes if you ain’t careful it is a must play when in the area. Staff is top notch.
Thanks for the great rating and review! I means a lot to us and we're glad you had a great experience. Hope to see you back again soon!
Regatta Bay
Fairways are excellent. Greens are pretty good following a hard freeze and snow. The grounds keeping team has done an excellent job. I enjoyed every minute in this course and I will be back.
Thanks for the great rating and positive comments, we appreciate it! Our TurfCare team is the best in the business and we're thankful for all they do every day! Come on back soon!
Thanks for the rating. We strive for 5 stars so help us improve by sharing more about your experience. Thanks again!
