About
Ever since it debuted in 2003 and started earning raves for being one of Northwest Florida's premier courses. This semi-private layout is the star amenity of an 800-acre residential development that touches Choctawhatchee Bay. Robert C. Walker, formerly the lead architect of Arnold Palmer's design company, laid out Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club amidst a nature preserve near the south shore of the bay. While you'll feel the breezes as you play this stalwart of Florida's Emerald Coast region, the water views during the round are of the wetlands, streams and manmade lakes that lend beauty and challenge to the game here. Plenty of trees, bulkheads lining the hazards and bright white sand in the predominantly shallow bunkers add extra aesthetic panache when you play at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. With so much water and trouble all around, you'll need to execute numerous forced carries on your drives and approach shots. A couple of holes feature island-like fairways. Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club delivers a classic brand of Florida target-style golf, though it's a challenge everyone can enjoy. Moderately skilled players will be relieved that some of the hazards and shot prospects seem more intimidating than they really are. The game at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club comes to a crescendo finish. On the tricky par-4 16th you must avoid the water on the left and the marsh that crosses the fairway. While the redesigned 17th may be a drivable par 4 for long hitters, for most players the primary task is executing a forced-carry tee shot over water that finds the fairway in a spot short of the bunkers that intercede before the green. The finishing hole at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a reachable ball 5 that hooks around a large lake with the green tucked hard by the hazard. It's the last test of a day of golf filled with strong and intriguing holes. The club's extensive practice facilities include a golf academy with a canopy cover and a nice clubhouse with a lakefront restaurant that's ideal for winding down after your game. It's no wonder that Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is such a popular place to play in golf-rich Destin.

Slow slow slow
We wish that the Marshall had sped people up. Rounds take four hours and 15 minutes or more. That is just too long and people don’t let you play through
Hi Randy, thanks for taking the time to leave a rating and review. Sorry the pace of play didn't meet your expectations but we average 4:20 here based on typical volume of a semi-private resort property. Generally early morning rounds play quicker so consider that next time if you are coming back and prefer a quicker pace.

Excellent Course
Love this course. Lot’s of options on tee selection. Not overly difficult with exception of the greens, which have a lot of undulation. Course was in excellent shape and the staff is outstanding. Highly recommend playing here!

Course is a great layout
Course is great. Layout is super fun. Staff was friendly. Only problem I had was tried to enter the property from Hwy 293 and couldn’t get in the gate. Maybe some signage at that entrance explaining golfers need to enter from Emerald Coast Parkway would help?
Fair comment! Google Maps can direct guests to the residents gate and we can't get that updated. It's best to call the ProShop on the way in to get the gate code upon arrival. Sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have you back soon!
Great condition good course layout
Challenging course with some target golf and some open holes. Wind strength and direction really change how the course plays on a day to day basis. Greens were great and rolling really true.

Regatta Bay Value
Everything was great but paying this much I would have liked to warm up on grass not mats and they can afford to put a couple bottles of water on each cart.
Great feedback, thanks for sharing! We only use mats a couple of days per week so we can effectively maintain the grass range, sorry it fell on the day you played. As for water bottles, we'll take that forward to management for consideration but in the meantime, we do have complimentary water stations all over the golf course for our guests. Not worth the money
We played Regatta Bay 9/30/24. Course wasn't in the best condition (wasn't effected by Hurricane Helene). Greens were in really rough shape, super slow, tee box grass was very long and didn't seem like the fairways were cut. The cups/holes were destroyed from what I'm assuming are people using their putters to get the ball out of the hole as opposed to bending over like a normal human. It didn't look like the cups were changed in about a week. For a "destination" type course i thought it was in poor form. Most people we talked to said it would be a great course. We also played The Raven, Burnt Pine, and Kelly Plantation. I'd say of the four courses Regatta Bay was in the worst condition. Definitely not worth the money.

Destin Vacation & Golf
We have been vacationing in Destin, Fl since before this course was born. I have always enjoyed playing the course. My wife doesn't play but loves the relaxing ride, scenery, and taking pictures. By the way wife riding in cart has never been a problem... but this time I was charged a $55 fee for my wife to ride in the cart with me. This is pathetic, bad choice Regatta Bay Staff. I'll never return!!!!!!!!!!!!
