Lakewood Country Club

Got through 13 holes in 4.5 hours. Teed off on time at 1pm and took an hour to get through the first 3 holes.

Course was in poor shape. Towards the end of the day the groundskeepers started cleaning up the course and would not move for our shots.

Very disappointed. Could be a great course.

This is by far my favorite course in the area. The obstacles and layout creates such a fun challenge and round.

Pace of play was horrendous and pro shop did not mention there was a tournament. Marshaller was inconsistent with regulating pace of play. Two groups in front of us kept taking 7 shots each (group of 4 players). Oh and for some reason the manager was not available as the manager had left for the day….while the tournament was actively going on.

Played an early 9 holes. Nobody in front of behind us. Staff was friendly. Course was in great condition and pretty lengthy. Would definitely comeback

Growing up in Lakewood in the 70’s, I did not play golf, but drove by this course constantly. Always admired how nice it looked, and thought it must be nice to play golf at a course that looks like that. Move ahead 50 years, now retired, and now playing golf … had the opportunity to play at Lakewood Country Club, and I must say, it’s the nicest course I have ever played. Don’t play at high cost courses, as my game doesn’t deserve those, but for the courses I have played on, this has been the most pleasant. I have played at Alta Vista in Placentia several times, when my brother-in-law would invite me, but I was just learning at the time, and not noticing the course. Looking back, it was nice, but my recent trip to Lakewood, seems better. Maybe it’s because I relax and enjoy, rather than fight my inabilities to play … great course, especially when playing with a best friend.

Fairways great greens real fast I wish I could putt.playing again next week. To all golfers fix your ball marks on the greens, I always fix several

I grew up just down the street from this course, but never played golf until my 50’s. Just getting back to playing after a ten year layoff, and was able to get a tee time for my friends birthday. Was so excited to play hear, and it was everything I hoped for. Pace was only a problem a couple times, but the day was so beautiful, it didn’t matter, and the two guys we were matched up with, were awesome. Already making plans to play here again.
