Good morning
In the Pro Shop, starter seemed to be in a bad mood but after that speed bump the round was pretty good. The workers on the course were very friendly and the snack bar at the turn server was awesome.
Well maintained
I play 45 times a week a different courses in California and this is one of the better taken care of courses that I have played in the last three months.
Lakewood CC
Issues:
- Computers were down. Had to hand write credit card info ... horrible security.
- TTime at 7am. Informed at checkin they basically overbooked due to Ladies tournament. Ended up with shotgun start for everyone ( not just tournament). Leading to very slow pace.
- odor at any hole near water was horrendous.

took 5 hours and 45 minutes to complete 18 holes, at least 10 minutes wait at every tee, sorry but will not come back
Slow play because of shotgun start?
Played Lakewood for a 7am Friday tee time. Teed off on a nice 1st hole. There was 8 golfers waiting to tee off on the 2nd hole! Apparently management decided on a shotgun start for all the holes which ‘was very disappointing! They were having a tournament @ noon so they wanted to squeeze the morning golfers in. Staff did not mention anything about the shotgun start for a non tourney 7am tee time so we were not happy. Very slow play and would not recommend this course!
Bad/ Lazy Staff
The young tall blonde cashier is the worst. The tee box was getting very crowded without a starter in sight so I asked if he could announce what group was up and what groups were next to prevent confusion. 10 mins went by and he hadn’t made one announcement. 2 5somes were in front of my group and each player hit two balls off the first tee. It came to my group and we tried to hit 2 balls each off the tee and all of a sudden this maintenance/starter comes up and yells that we can’t hit two balls off the first tee. My group obliged but I would never recommend Lakewood Because the kicker is the two groups of 5 somes in front of us were white players and my group was black players

Armando filmed me without permission and was extremely hostile towards me. Please hire someone professional and please erase my video! Also 6 hr round on a Tuesday morning is ridiculous!!
