Lakewood Country Club

I like this course overall and the pace of play was pretty good. Two main issues:

1. Course condition- the course was soaked, the greens had ball marks all over the place and there was trash throughout the course. We got hit up by a Marshall because we were 2 ft off the cart path, but maybe the guy should've been picking up trash or fixing ball marks.

2. Snack shed at the turn wasn't open. It was 850 am when we made the turn. That thing should open by 8. Just an opinion.

Restrooms were FILTHY. Tolit looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months.

Greens needed work.

Too much grass cuttings in fairways.

This was a very good course. A great layout with some challenging holes. The pace of play was painful though. There were very slow groups ahead of us and no Marshall to keep everyone on track.

Overall the course was in pretty decent shape. The fairways were better than average and the greens were nice, but God help you if you’re unfortunate to land in a bunker. They were basically like concrete where it was impossible to hit a decent shot out of them. You would be better off hitting off the cart path as the lie is more predictable and even. Of course I was in the bunker 4 out of the first 6 holes so I can assure you this wasn’t an isolated case. They’re all bad. Hopefully they will make some improvements in the future that will make the course playable.

The course was well-maintained and the greens were fast and smooth.

The scenery was beautiful, especially around the lake on hole

Staff were friendly and the clubhouse facilities were excellent.

I’d definitely recommend this course to other golfers!

I wanted to give a positive review for this location because it is a well maintained course. Unfortunately, I made a reservation but could not make it due to having a car accident on my way there. Please play the course you will love it. Get a early or late tee time for the best experience.

If it’s the weekend, I might understand. But for a weekday round, it’s way too packed. The course wants to make money but it’s not enjoyable to play here anymore. Even one of the guys, who plays here every Monday and Wednesday, said he would not come back anymore. It’s a shame because this is my favorite course in the area.

Pretty poor course all round. 20 min behind schedule of the tee time, and the 2nd hole had 4 groups waiting on the tee box. Shocking stuff. Multiple five-some on the course too which didn’t help at all.

When we eventually finished the front 9, we went to grab a sandwich etc in the kitchen however they only had 1 staff member who said “sorry this group just sat down so it’ll be 20 mins on your food”. No options for a hotdog or something speedy - poor staff member should have had support.

Course itself is fine, but greens were pretty slow. Bunkers were fine, fairways ok, tee boxes pretty gnarley.

For the price it’s way too expensive, especially with the pace of play issues.

Never disappointed in this course always in good shape from T to Greens. Only complaint is T box No. 2 because of the amount of ducks you need to watch where you walk or you’ll step on a land mind!

Good round. Not much waiting for the group in front, or being rushed by the group behind. 8:10am tee time on Fathers Day Sunday, was expecting it to be backed up. Course conditions were great. No terrible tee box damages or excessive ball marks on the greens. Definitely exceeded my expectations as far as pace of play and course conditions.
