Save your money
LPGA International is run very poorly. I had a 1+ hour delay to tee off while being told they are only 30 min behind. The Marshalls, who are normally overbearing on the first tee are nowhere to be found to help. They staff does nothing to help get back on schedule. This is an extreme example, but this is a regular occurrence at LPGA.
Great Shape but bunker sand needs replacing
Tee to green course in great shape. It's dry so course plays firm. Greens are fast and crusty. The sand in most of the bunkers sucks. Almost like hitting off concrete in many of them.
Massive potential here...if properly managed
Course is pretty good overall, with a nice layout and plenty of challenge. Fairways are generously wide, but should you stray too far left or right there are large traps on most every hole. Greens are well trapped and many are elevated, so bring your best iron play, The wind was howling on the day we played, and that made for tough conditions.
Pace of play is a real problem here. Our round took 5 hours. We waited on many tee boxes, so as a result we got to know a few members, and they confirmed that slow play is a perpetual problem. There are a few reasons for this, from my vantage point: a) tee times are 7 minutes apart - too many players jammed into a day, b) sand traps are VERY large and 90%+ of them only had one rake - as a result, players have to walk long distances to fetch a rake before hitting their shot, and c) there is no ranger on the course making sure pace of play is up to par.
If ownership resolved the slow play problem, this could be a fantastic place to play.
LPGA Jones course
This course could be so much more if only the pace of play could be fixed. It took us 5 hours and 15 minutes to complete the round and we had a considerable wait on every tee box. Better management of starting times is needed in order to greatly improve. Overall a good course but would not play again.
Slow Play
We enjoyed playing the course. It is a good layout for the average golfer and generally in good condition. The fairways are generous minimizing the effect of wayward tee shots. Play on this day was horribly slow - a five-hour round.
Staff at the course needs training in customer service. From the bag drop to the pro shop to the beverage cart to the halfway house there is an attitude problem. At the halfway house I waited several minutes for two employees to finish their conversation. Then a 30% tip didn't even deserve an acknowledgement. At least I got a grunt from the lady manning the beverage cart. To me this is a management issue. They don't care.
SLOW PLAY
Don’t play this course on the weekend
2 hrs in only 3 holes played and they threw in 3 foursomes of college players at the last min.
Ranger??
Staff is great, weather was perfect unfortunately we had to wait on Every hole. Please hire a ranger. The tee boxes need some TLC, they are beat up and very uneven.
Terrible Pace of Play
Boring layout and took 4:40 for a twosome to play. No marshals to encourage faster play
Jones - first round there; really slow!
Played as a single and got paired up with 3 great folks (Blake and Brittany work with LPGA). We started at 1:45 PM and due to very slow pace of play, finished #18 in the dark. Folks behind us were not so lucky. We waited on almost every shot on every hole for the group ahead of us, while they were also waiting similarly for groups ahead of them. We got messages on the GPS that our pace was slow and there would be a ranger, but we never saw one. Easy solution might be to space tee times out more than 7 minutes which is ridiculously tight. No other courses bunch folks that tight. The course might not lose revenue with fewer bunched up tee times, while they could plan for rounds shorter than 5 hours.
Pace of play extremely slow
I booked a 2:37 pm tee time and paid for 18 holes expecting to easily be done by sunset. I was mistaken as there were 2-3 groups on every hole when I got to the tee box. In about 4 hours I got through 14 or 15 holes before I had to pack it up early because it was too dark to finish.
Slow play
One hour after tee off I had only played 2 holes. Got to the 3 rd hole and there were two groups on the tee box. NEVER play this course on the weekend. They also squeezed in two foursomes of collegiate players right before I teed off
Golf outing
The Jones course was very nice and we’ll keep. We had a great time.
Best in area
Couse is in great shape. Fairways green with plenty of grass. Greens firm and somewhat fast. Putted true. Challenging but fair.Love to play here. A little pricey unless you can find a hotdeal on Golfnow.
Terrible
Three groups on every tea with no range and the golf cart was constantly pinging that we were behind pace so yet that place was a total disaster
Pace of play ruins it
Nice course layout and conditions but they pay no attention to pace of play. We had three 4-somes on 5 consecutive tees. You can stay loose or interested in the game when you’re waiting like that. I spoke to the starter at the turn and he did nothing but offer excuses.
Just too slow and heavy play...greens firm and bumpy
Play was almost 6 hours...greens don't hold or putting well. Very very heavy play
