Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Golf Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard public golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Golf Club's greens are well bunkered.

Course is dead
There is no grass in the fairways. It's as if they gave up on the course. It's horrible.
Beginner Golfer at Hidden Hills
Honestly this would be a beautiful course and probably one of the best in Jacksonville if it was given a little TLC. I chalked up the dead fairways to the Florida Summer heat, but my Uncle (who has played this course several times) informed me that the course has been in this condition for years. The tee boxes and greens were in decent condition, but everything in between them was dead. Beautiful course layout, and I wish it was better kept. I would still play this course again, despite the flaws.

Hidden hills need some love.
I’ve probably played this course 50 times over the last 20 years, I always love the layout. But today, this course was in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it in. The tee boxes are all chewed up and full of sand and divots, almost no grass on any of the fairways, and sand patches and dead grass all over the greens. Please fix this.

Not up to past standards
Not sure how to express this review, but I was disappointed in the course conditions. The fairways were in bad shape and to. Still charge guests the full costs was disappointing

The course was not in very good shape. Many of the fairways had little if any grass.

I live 5 min from HH. Great layout and enjoy playing here normally but it’s in the worst shape I’ve seen it in. Not worth $75

No Grass
Course was in horrible shape. Wish there was a warning posted somewhere. I would not have played here if I would have known. The clubhouse staff were no help at all. "It is what it is" is what I was told. Will not be coming back.

Fun, but…
Enjoyed the course. The bad: the fairways are parched. The good: improvements being made here and there on tee boxes. Greens are mostly good. The staff are great.

Scam of A Course
Management really ran this course into the ground. Used to be one of the better maintained courses in the Jacksonville area, but it seems like they really don’t care about the conditions anymore. Fairways are completely dead, tee boxes are dirt, and the staff is rude. It is a scam that they charge as much as they do!

Burnt to a crisp
Great course and layout. Unfortunately not much $ put into maintenance and watering. Fairways, tee boxes and greens were brutally dry. Play this after several weeks of rain is only option.

What a shame this course has become
Pace of play was good.
Greens aerated a few weeks ago, so will come around
Still have pock marks.
But Christmas the fairways are nothing but straw.
It's a shame because it's one of the only courses in jax that's not flat which would make it a good place to play
Hot deal of $47 way over priced for the conditions
Only real value was the abundant water lilies in the ponds

Hidden Hills
I've played Cherokee Run in Atlanta and Hidden Hills in Jacksonville. Both are not pushovers! Both designed by Arnie
I've played it 3 - 4 times now.. I've learned more about the layout and really like it.
I lost quite a few balls by playing too aggressively at first.
The only negative was some of the fairways are pretty bald. Lots of hardpan fairways that roll forever.
