Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Greens need help
Greens are absolutely horrible, so sad to see this course go downhill like this. Slow play may have been worse, took us 3 hours to play 9 holes, left after due to slow play. All this for a great value of 75 dollars. Hope they get it back to the way it once was

Great course
Love this course! Only issue is right now the greens are awful. Especially on the front nine. Looks like the large amount of rain we’ve had lately drowned them. They were perfect when I last played three weeks ago. Hopefully they will bounce back soon. Can’t wait to play here again.

Friendly Welcoming Staff
I had a great round on a very warm day. From the golf shop to the snack cart everyone was so nice. The course was challenging and fun and in great shape overall for mid summer in NE Florida. A couple of fairways were cart path only but it didn’t take away from the experience. Highly recommend!

Course is not in good condition
The greens are getting better but still not that good. The course has a great layout but not that good of fairway grass.

Wonderful layout and routing. Poor conditions.
The course needs at least $2-3m put into it to bring it back to the Palmer gem it used to be. Greens had just been punched, so I’ll give a pass on that. But the fairways were bad, the bunkers and rough largely unmanicured and thin, with way too many bare spots. The cart paths are in disrepair, and the chances of getting a decent lie anywhere on the golf course are not good. We finally started playing lift, clean and place throughout the course.
This course still has great potential…but needs serious dollars spent to bring it back to its glory years.

Good challenging golf course with excellent staff!!!
Good challenging golf course with excellent staff!!! Recently punched greens are a bit rough.
Fairways and greens
For the rates they are charging the fairways and greens should be in a lot better shape. I love the layout but I'll be playing other courses in town until they get the course in better shape
Do better Hidden Hills
Absolutely horrible for the price point! The pace of play was an absolute joke! Four hours with 4 holes still to play. The course conditions are rough at best, with overgrown tee boxes, fairways in poor condition, at $75 for an 11:22 tee time is atrocious. Do yourself a favor, and play somewhere like Queens Harbor for that price instead. Sadly, this use to be one of my favorite courses to play but I definitely will not be back anytime soon. Do better Hidden Hills.

Worst course in Jax for the price.
This is by far the worst bang for your buck in Jacksonville. 72 freaking dollars on The Weeknd and 40 dollars for a twilight rate on the weekdays. Course is pitiful. Sand everywhere in fairways. Greens are and have been starched since February. Huge mud spots with practically no grass on greens in spots. And these guys have the audacity to charge 72 dollars on the weekend. The municipal course in blue cypress is a much better maintained course. The pro and head grounds keeper of this course should have a sit down and re evaluate 1. Their green fees. 2. How to make this once premier flagship course of Jacksonville a much better playing course. The track is nice but gosh i just cant get over the conditions. Huge let down.
Not a good value
Was surprised to see so many tee times available for a Sunday morning. After playing, I can see why. Course wasn't in good condition. Patchy all around, Tees/fairways/greens. In the middle of the fairway would be on dirt. Also had a lot of weeds.
For the price, expected something a lot better. This would be more of a $40 course, not the $70 we paid.
