Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.

Poor fairways and greens

The fairways were dry and sparse. The greens were also dry and spotty. I like the course and would recommend it if it was allowed to grow more lush to make more consistent play.

Nice course
Different than ever course in Jax. A little out of shape but worth it and fun

Course in in horrible shape. No grass in the fairways and the greens have been scarified.
The point of no return
I will be short and to the point. From tee to green, the conditions were extremely poor. In addition to that we waited on every hole. what a pitiful golf course. Will not be back.
Terrible Conditions
Course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it, yet they are still charging $72 for a Saturday morning round. Greens are so bumpy you can’t even read a putt. Every fairway you hit, don’t expect a clean lie, expect spotty grass and sand. Rough is almost unplayable. It’s once thing to struggle to maintain the course, but to continue to charge that much for a round, ridiculous. Won’t be back anytime soon.
Sub Par
Came down for a golf vacation with friends. Course staff didn’t regulate the pace of play very well. They also allowed a group of six to play together…all with their own carts. Was also disappointed that there were no hole by hole images on the scorecard. I definitely would have made different club selections if I knew where the water and OB areas were located. Plenty of other courses in the area to choose from.

Interesting design - good layout of holes - golf course condition was poor; greens had been aerated recently and too much sand and bare spots - a lot of weeds in the tee boxes.

Good, midweek morning tee time for less than $50. The course could use some love tee to green, particularly the bunkers with more dirt than sand.

Rough shape
Course has really gone down hill.
Good course for $35-50 anything more than that you will feel you have been ripped off.

Average
Course has gone downhill in the past 5 years. Now consistent with average public course. Unfilled divot tee boxes, greens need to be rolled and weeds throughout the fairways to the extent you often need to move your ball off a weed to hit. Conditions make the course harder than it already is. One my favorite courses, just needs some TLC.
