Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.

Average
Course has gone downhill in the past 5 years. Now consistent with average public course. Unfilled divot tee boxes, greens need to be rolled and weeds throughout the fairways to the extent you often need to move your ball off a weed to hit. Conditions make the course harder than it already is. One my favorite courses, just needs some TLC.

Worst maintained golf
This golf course has a nice layout but it’s a shame how bad the condition was!
Greens even worse and then taking 90$ a round is insane!

Bad Greens and Terrible Shape
Hidden Hills was a great course a year ago, I really do'n't know what happened. The greens are in horrible shape and the fairways have standing water in some cases across the approach. to Charge 75 Dollars to play 18 on the course is not right.

Played first time at HH and totally enjoyed ourselves. The course layout was challenging, yet also lots of fun. Needed a variety of shots and clubs to get around. Course conditions were average, and hoping it improves with better weather. Pace of play was great, although we had early tee times. Staff was helpful and friendly, Nice round of golf.

Bad shape
This course has a great layout but is in desperate need help. Fairway and green all have bare spot. When you ball hits the fairway the is an explosion of dirt/sand. I wouldn’t recommend.

Course just in fair shape
Fun course layout. Good pace of play on a not busy Tuesday. Course shape could’ve been better and has been previous times playing here.

Needs significant maintenance
It was clear that the course was recently scarified, which is to be expected in the spring, but there are numerous large patches of diseased and dead turf on the greens, and most tee boxes are torn to shreds.
Our tee time was triple booked so the entire round was a traffic jam and pace of play was completely thrown out the window.
I’ve played this course when conditions are better and normally would highly recommend this course for anyone who likes a challenging layout, but this was far from previous experiences. For the price I paid I felt this was a terrible value, especially considering the amount of high quality courses in the area.

the greens were cut 2 to 3 months ago and it appears nothing was done with them since. very unfair to putt on greens with tracks .Hard to read greens.
