Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.

All the greens are zebra striped grass ??
The greens were all weird… zebra looking grass like 1/2 way done hair transplant .. but not bad considering.. awesome ( track ) hills are big!
I’d recommend it to all ..
Gridlined greens
Played this course solo for the 4th time. I don’t know if I will come back. Was paired up with another single, starter was a great guy was hoping for a good round. Paid about $50 for a course with greens in terrible condition and to play behind two terribly slow ladies foursomes who would not let us through. We were waiting on every shot at least a minute. Never once saw a ranger. Pace of play has been a problem the last two times I played this course, once on a sunday and once on a tuesday. Besides that, greens were weird, dirty and sandy with gridlines. We were not informed of any of this. I understand we had a freeze but when I ask what kind of shape the course is in, and the guy in the pro shop says great, i expect the greens to be able to roll a putt.

Dead Grass
Dead grass on all fairways and and not just from the recent freeze. The greens have line seeding throughout all greens. Would wait until spring to try.

Great place to play
Every time I visit Jacksonville to see my son we make a trip to Hidden Hills. The 4 of us can play in 4 hours and find the course challenging but a lot of fun to play. Last time the course was in great shape. Great value for the money!
Great Value
When my son moved to Jacksonville from Ontario Canada, he said, dad you have to check out this course I was recommended to, called Hidden Hills. He plays there frequently and when we visit he and I always plan a day to play. Course is always in great shape, challenging for any handicap and it has a welcoming atmosphere. December round
First time at the club.
The staff was ok. Not overly talkative or upbeat.
With grass dormant the condition of the tees fairways and greens was as to be expected. The course layout is nice. Id like to play in the spring to see how the course conditions are.

Fun course
Always love playing this course. Ample challenges but playable. Many of the greens need some work as they were cut short and the green didn’t recover. Same with many of the tee boxes as they done seem to be rotated frequently to support regrowth. Fairways were in good condition.

Choose Another Course
Greens were a mess, staff did not advise how poor they were. Tee boxes weren’t any better, barely a flat lie for your feet.

Good
The fairways are tight, so make sure your drives etc are dialed in. The greens were super aerated, so not cool. No heads up about that. Other than that, the staff was great and super friendly.

Old style golfing
Hidden Hills is one of the courses in Florida that gives you a feel you are somewhere else...I'm originally from the northeast and always love playing here cause of the elevations and a true test of golf... Not an easy course but I enjoy it very much....the beverage cart girl is also the nicest and friendliest of any place...great time today...

Course conditions/pace of play
We got stuck behind a 3 some that didn’t let us play thru. Made the day a 5 and half hour round and it could of been easily a 4hr round. The tee boxes were kinda uneven, fairways were kinda meh a little patchy, greens were confusing as they were rolling good but it didn’t look like they were. Seemed like they would be bumpy since how they mowed and rolled them looked awful. I’ll be back but not for awhile.
