About
Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Looking Good
Greens were more than fast, however they look like recently verti’cut and seeded greens. Channels or ‘stripes’ of seed are growing in but once again caution on downhill putts! Fast! Layout/fairways above average while tees were average.

Going down hill fast
Used to be a favorite of ours, now if your two feet off the fairway good luck finding your ball in debri and rough. Traps haven’t been touched in years.
New owner clearly does not care. Won’t be back even at the golf now rate.

the only issues i see that would prevent the last star is the condition of all the tees. other than that, the course is great. just being honest and would rathet stand and hit tee shot on grass.

Great experience would return
Great experience overall. Staff was helpful and welcoming. The course is a great layout through a neighborhood. In good shape other than the greens being a little rough due to seasonal maintenance and a few tee boxes were suffering from heavy play. Neither were significant detractors, I would play here again.

Like the course
The course is undergoing heavy airating and is not to good for play. It will take a couple of weeks to bring it back to it's good form. Looking forward it being ready to play again.

Over seeded greens
The greens were in great shape considering they had just been overseeded They wee quick, true, and consistent. The fairways needed water and probably to be reseeded

Palmer group design
Golf course was well designed and challenging. Greens needed a little sand to fill in but were fast and true. Tee boxes needed flatten surface work. Fairways and tee boxes need more grass. Course was not far off from being a better value at $70 on weeekend.
