About
Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Great TIme at Hidden Hills
Great course. Always a challenge. Fairly long with hazards along the way to challenge your accuracy. Greens were in a bit of tough shape no doubt from the extreme cold snap or else I would have given a better rating. I'll definitely be back. Always a great time at Hidden Hills.
P.S. The fact that the cart service was more than just one or two times this round made for a great bonus.

fairways dry
since i have moved to Florida in 2003, most golf courses in Jacksonville and surrounding areas use to rye grass the greens and fairways.Now the fairways are not attended,dry and getting a little to sandy.

Fairways need work
Fairways are bare. Needs overseeding like the greens which still roll true. To many bare lies in the fairways.

Great variety
Second time playing here and enjoyable again. I like the variety of the course quite a bit. For me, it’s worth a 40 min drive on occasion to come here. Recommendation: let two and threesome go before foursomes if all parties are at first tee. The foursome was very slow and took multiple drop shots on tees, fairways, and greens; holding us up and several parties behind us. Five hours later we finished. Perhaps the ranger could have some leeway on this if they notice groups waiting to tee off at one.

All the greens are zebra striped grass ??
The greens were all weird… zebra looking grass like 1/2 way done hair transplant .. but not bad considering.. awesome ( track ) hills are big!

Gridlined greens
Played this course solo for the 4th time. I don’t know if I will come back. Was paired up with another single, starter was a great guy was hoping for a good round. Paid about $50 for a course with greens in terrible condition and to play behind two terribly slow ladies foursomes who would not let us through. We were waiting on every shot at least a minute. Never once saw a ranger. Pace of play has been a problem the last two times I played this course, once on a sunday and once on a tuesday. Besides that, greens were weird, dirty and sandy with gridlines. We were not informed of any of this. I understand we had a freeze but when I ask what kind of shape the course is in, and the guy in the pro shop says great, i expect the greens to be able to roll a putt.

Dead Grass
Dead grass on all fairways and and not just from the recent freeze. The greens have line seeding throughout all greens. Would wait until spring to try.

Great place to play
Every time I visit Jacksonville to see my son we make a trip to Hidden Hills. The 4 of us can play in 4 hours and find the course challenging but a lot of fun to play. Last time the course was in great shape. Great value for the money!

When my son moved to Jacksonville from Ontario Canada, he said, dad you have to check out this course I was recommended to, called Hidden Hills. He plays there frequently and when we visit he and I always plan a day to play. Course is always in great shape, challenging for any handicap and it has a welcoming atmosphere. December round
First time at the club.
The staff was ok. Not overly talkative or upbeat.
With grass dormant the condition of the tees fairways and greens was as to be expected. The course layout is nice. Id like to play in the spring to see how the course conditions are.
