About
Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Tee Boxes and Greens Need Work
Friendly and professional staff and course is in great shape with exception to choppy tee boxes and sparse and patchy greens. I still like playing here.

Usually a course charges less when necessary maintenance occurs like aeration of fairways , also one hole out of service. However this a great layout with lots of history.

Compliments to Staff
Missed overall 5 Star only because tree removal was being performed causing temporary greens. That being said, really enjoy the course and friendly staff. Good job.
Still a good track
The greens are rolling better since they punched them and always enjoy the layout. Hope the #5 green opens soon as the flow from 5 and 6 is missed. I would suggest putting a disclaimer on GolfNow about the temporary green for 5 and six now a par 3. It could make a few folks angry if they did not know especially if they are paying $69. Fairways need some water but for the most part the course plays great.

Undergoing maintenance. Best par 3 is closed and best par 5 is turned into 2 par 3s. Horrible greens are ton on 10 of the holes.

Maybe, but need more time
Played here 8/14/22. First thing first. Re-doing #5 green because it was so hard to putt before. So that will be good when it opens.
The course conditions compared to others in the area is just not good. Thin fairways, many bald spots in the rough. Greens are fairly decent only spotty patches of weeds here and there.
Got a reasonable price through GolfNow. It was about what the course is worth value wise.
It's a great layout, tight. Accuracy is important. Once the conditions improve and #5 opens, I could recommend it.
