About
Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Great experience would return
Great experience overall. Staff was helpful and welcoming. The course is a great layout through a neighborhood. In good shape other than the greens being a little rough due to seasonal maintenance and a few tee boxes were suffering from heavy play. Neither were significant detractors, I would play here again.

Like the course
The course is undergoing heavy airating and is not to good for play. It will take a couple of weeks to bring it back to it's good form. Looking forward it being ready to play again.

Over seeded greens
The greens were in great shape considering they had just been overseeded They wee quick, true, and consistent. The fairways needed water and probably to be reseeded

Palmer group design
Golf course was well designed and challenging. Greens needed a little sand to fill in but were fast and true. Tee boxes needed flatten surface work. Fairways and tee boxes need more grass. Course was not far off from being a better value at $70 on weeekend.

Decent Course for the Price
Course layout is still really cool with several elevated tees and elevation changes. Pace of play was slow - nobody was behind our group so we played a par 5 twice and still had to wait on the next hole.

Bad day at the hills
Great layout with medium conditions and greens still pockmarked from punching two plus months ago. Add to that very fast and most holes on slopes. I hit a great put on 8 from the back of the green that barely missed going in. It meandered for another 30 seconds until it finally stopped on the front of the green. Brutal!

Cool layout
Greens are fast but roll nice. Only problem was one green under construction so had to skip hole. Nice course for the price

Good day at Hidden Hills
Enjoyed a nice round at Hidden Hills. A excellent challenge for the 7-10 handicap golfer from the blue tees which we’re back by the gold most of the day.. Pace of play was very good and was invited ( waved through) to play through tone Senior foursome . Great value. Pro shop well appointed. Course conditioning was good - not outstanding but very playable. Pins were well positioned ( seemed like a good mix of tucked - front 50% (red) and back and middle 25%!rach. Renovation on 1 hole turned a tough dogleg right into 2 par threes - one to a fairway green the other to the normal green. Enjoyable round and would recommend it from the blues.
