Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Cool layout
Greens are fast but roll nice. Only problem was one green under construction so had to skip hole. Nice course for the price

Good day at Hidden Hills
Enjoyed a nice round at Hidden Hills. A excellent challenge for the 7-10 handicap golfer from the blue tees which we’re back by the gold most of the day.. Pace of play was very good and was invited ( waved through) to play through tone Senior foursome . Great value. Pro shop well appointed. Course conditioning was good - not outstanding but very playable. Pins were well positioned ( seemed like a good mix of tucked - front 50% (red) and back and middle 25%!rach. Renovation on 1 hole turned a tough dogleg right into 2 par threes - one to a fairway green the other to the normal green. Enjoyable round and would recommend it from the blues.

Cost needs adjusted
Great course layout. Loved the course, but needs a little better conditions to be 5 star. The only negative I have is the cost for the condition. One hole under repair, understandable, course conditions ok, not great. Price should reflect this.

Holes
Should have not paid full price considering was never told at check in that the course wasn’t a 100% ready. Instead we had 3 back-to-back par 3s.
Would only recommend if the course is at 100%

Great Course
Got the chance to play here last week for the first time and I can’t wait to get out there again. Great layout and better condition. There is a temporary green on hole 5, but even the closed green looks better than some greens at o a courses.

Lots of placement shots because of water on front while the back is more open. We knew about the par 3 situation before we played. When the rebuilt par 3 is back in play it will be a pretty special hole.

Poor value due to joke repair
Should not be charging regular rates while the #6 par 3 is under repair. Not a good value.
It would be better to just eliminate that joke since it also affects the #7 par 5, resulting in 3 par threes in a row.
This also should b revealed on Golf Now to warn players of the situation

Great Course In Need Of Attention
No doubt this could be one of the best golf courses in the region including all the big name venues. That is of course if it received a third of the attention those big name venues receive. The greens seem to be just hanging on and the fairways were only slightly better. With the amount of rain this area has received you would expect the course to be significantly more plush. It would appear they are making an effort, but there is still a great deal of work to do.

I really enjoy playing this course..I'm originally from the Northeast and this course gives me a little bit of what I used to play up north..it was in good shape and it's a great challenge....Terry on the beverage cart is second to no one on any course..very friendly staff

Course needs work
Greens are slowly recovering from aeration. Grass in fairways need lots of work and water. The price was very fair. Everyone there is very pleasant. The reconstruction of the 5th hole seems to be progressing nicely.
