Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Good challenging golf course with excellent staff!
Tournament play ahead of our tee time made this the longest round of golf I have played in over 4 years. Fairly unpleasant day in 100 degree heat. Normally reasonable pace but this one was not good or normal.

Temp Greens
Wish when booking via golf now it let u know they had temp greens. I guess i should have looked at the reviews. Plus the starters always suck here

Not the best
Made me buy a collard shirt right off. Not that I was wearing a tee shirt, had a nice athletic shirt on never had any problem at any other coarse. Seemed every hole we played had mowers and groundsmen. They never showed us any courtesy just kept mowing, even around the greens as we were trying to make our approach. Just wasn’t that happy with our outing

Getting better
Course is getting better every time I play it. Still finishing 18 in 4 hours or less during the week. My go to course now.

Just really disappointed
Hidden Hills is usually my go to, and will continue to be. But, the course condition was lousy. Many greens had cancer, fairways had weeds all over and tee boxes were meh. We didn't know that a hole was being rebuilt and we would play 3 par threes in a row. I am good with improving the course and hole #5 being rebuilt will, in the end, be a good thing. But the next par 3 is a waste of a hole. Just really disappointed in the overall condition of the course when basically every course in Jacksonville and surrounding area is in great condition. Come on Russ, but some money into it!

Bad day
Wish they told me before I played that hole 5 was not there and they had a makeshift 5th and 6th hole. I would've went somewhere different.

The club is renovating the 5th green. That green was not in bad condition so we wonder why it is being replaced. Will ask. They made the par 5 6th hole into two par 3 holes. So 3 par 3s in a row.
We would suggest that the 6th hole has room for the short par 3 and a short par 4 if the tee box is placed either far right or far left on the 6th hole. The lake ahead of the green could be made to force a layup shot short of the water. If required, put a sign on the temporarily tee box banning a long drive attempt directly to the 6th green.

Great Value-Well Kempt
Off the beaten path Hidden Hills is a great value. A public course bordering a country club neighborhood, it is a great value. I don't mean cheap. I mean you get just slightly better conditions than one would expect for the price.
Some challenging holes, some bombable fairways and great changes of elevation for a Florida course. Great pace!

Short but challenging
Is a short course with a lot of fun holes, the fairway were a bit rough and some of thee greens too. I enjoy playing the course even though was a bad day of ply for my self. Not going back just because of the distance from where I live.
