About
With its exciting and challenging layout, Lansbrook Golf Club has earned a reputation as one of Tampa Bay's finest daily-fee golf courses. The traditional 18-hole, par 72 Lane Marshall design has amenities and service at a level of excellence typically found only at private country clubs. Some of the homes along with course are landscaped very nicely. Photo submitted by swannieq on 06/11/2013
I’ve played this course many times before but Sunday it was not in good shape at all. Numerous fairways had huge dead spots and large patches of dirt throughout them. Many of the tee boxes had not been cut or were just in horrible shape all together. The course needs a lot of work and improvements if they’re going to charge $60 to play in the summer.
Good afternoon round
This course is really ok.
Some reviews are way to negative. Sure there are a few bare spots in a few of the fairways, but overall most all fairways are in good early summer shape. The greens were recently punched but generally ram true. The multi tiered greens are fun to play. A few tee boxes were being reconditioned so the course played a little short.
Give the rainy season a little time and seed in the bare spots and this course will be even better.
My biggest complaint is that the cart paths are in bad shape, but the effort going into the playing surface is worththe trade off you put up with.
Course is FALLING APART
I was extremely disappointed with Lansbrook golf course.
Played here last year many times over the summer and the course was extremely well-maintained greens were in perfect condition and in fact I was so impressed with the greens I told many friends about this course.
This summer I am back I have played here twice and the greens are absolutely in horrible condition and mini of the tea boxes were marked as on usable and had the tea boxes moved up to the fairways.
I will not play here again I feel that whoever is running this course has completely let it go
This could be a very good course if maintained sadly I feel that this was a complete waste of money and after playing here last year and being so happy with the greens in the course and complete disappointment do not waste your money here
Sparse areas in the Fairways.,greens Still bumpy weeks after Airation
I don’t know why they don’t throw down a lot of Seed mix on these fairways. There are Giant bare spots on most of the fairways. Greens need to be rolled
A great course in the northern Pinellas area
If you’re a prima-donna, you might have a few things to complain about. Then again, when don’t you. This course is in decent shape and well cared for. Are there a few areas off the fairways that are dirt? Yes, but nothing that wouldn’t be covered by trees regardless. The course keeps up with rotating the tees and I didn’t come across one box that I’d say was in “poor condition.” All in all, I will definitely be back to Lansbrook.
Disappointed
I thought this course (Lansbrook) was a great course. I was wrong. It needs to be shut down and re-done because it is in bad bad shape. I would be embarrassed if I worked at this course.
Terrible greens and Tee Boxes
The course seemed really torn up.
One of the reasons I like playing this course is because of the extremely well-maintained greens.
However the last two times I’ve played here they have been terrible.
And the tea boxes were completely torn up some of them were not even usable so they had moved all the tea boxes 50 yards up.
I may not play here for quite a while.
I liked playing here because the greens were in great shape now I think I may have to find a new good course
All around good shape
It had rained a lot the day before so it was soggy and cart path only, greens were in decent to good shape. Shot a 85 not too bad.
Very Disappointing Round
Don't play this course. Save your money and your time. I only played this course because I got a hot deal on Golf Now and I wish I hadn't. All aspects of this course are horrible. The practice range is basically sand. Tee boxes have little grass and some are so bad they have been moved down into the fairway. Fairways are horrendous with little grass and the greens are in basically the same sad shape. Two positives, I could tell that they cut the grass, where there was grass, and they did run their bunker machine in the bunkers to smooth them out.
It was a little Rough
Courses in pretty rough shape but according to the locals that’s what it’s supposed to be like around here this time of the year I just moved to St. Petersburg from Denver so wasn’t sure what to expect so I would imagine playing it in the middle of winter when everything’s grown out nice it would look pretty good
Hope it improves
Played there a couple of months back. At that time the greens were very fast and rolled true. Fairways good, but even then they were having issues with their tee boxes. Now, most of the tee boxes are gone. The fairways are okay, quite a few bare spots. But with all the heat and no rain that can be expected. The greens look okay from a distance, but when you got there they still showed holes from being punched. Understandably this made them hard to put. But in the long run, this will help the health of their greens so no complaints. But those tee boxes are such a disaster I won't return till I read a review that they have been fixed.
Great course to practice
The course is average and the greens are ok but I'm not dissatisfied enough to not play there. I can still work on my game and find decent lies to make shots. The layout is good with a few challenges, which I like. The staff is friendly. They like to advertise their pizza deals. The pizza is "just" ok for a snack on the go. I will still play there from time-to-time because the price on GolfNow make it worth a round.
SMH!!
First played Landsbrook about four years ago. I enjoyed the layout but the course was a little scruffy. Played this past Thursday and WOW! The course was in dis-repair. Aside from the layout the aerated greens was the hi-lite. Probably the worst conditioned course I have ever played. It may be a $20.00 value anything over that would be a waste of money.
Greens punched
Greene’s were pinched on Monday and Tuesday 5/23-5/24. Fairways were being punched on 5/25-5/26. No notification or signage displayed to warn golffers of this. GN and courses need to get on the same page when this happens every year.
