Arthur Hills designed the Padre Course at Camelback Golf Club to deliver a fun round that's tough to forget. Trees tower, landforms show subtly, and bunkers improve your golf skills. The par-72 golf course measures 6,903 yards, and has gained its renown by offering a design that requires strategy.
A round of golf on the Padre Course at the Camelback Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 446 yards from the black tees. Things get long on the fifth hole, a par 5 that comes in at 553 yards from the black tees, one of four 500-plus-yard holes. The 18th hole is one of these: It's 547 yards from the black tee to the post-round celebration.
After your round on the Padre Course at Camelback Golf Club, head to the Golf Grill, serving U.S. cuisine and a fancy Sunday brunch in the style of Southwestern country clubs. There's also a luxury lounge where you can spend winters on the patio by the fireplace.

Length of play
Horrible experience at padre today. They allowed a tournament to slip in front of us on the first tee and the pace was ridiculous. At one time 2 holes were open ahead of them and we saw no Marshall on the course. Even called the course but still, no one showed up. Took almost 6 hours and in Arizona summer heat. I won’t go back.
What you see is what you get
Overall course is a straightforward, no surprises golf course. The greens were running smooth and fast, roughly 11 on stimp meter. Tee boxes were a bit rough and uneven. Fairways were tight and well manicured. Pace of play could have been a touch faster, roughly 4:40 to complete 18 holes.
Staff was amazing! They took care of me the moment I got there til I left. Course was in good shape.
Camelback
Really liked the padre course. Course conditions were good and the pace of play was good. I will play there again.
Nice Shape after summer maintenance
Today was the 1st day they reopened the course after summer maintenance. The greens where slow as expected, but consistent. The fairways and rough were in good share, some bare spots. I would recommend.
Very Nice Course
Played PADRE. Very nice course - greens were firm and quick - quickest I have played in Scottsdale. QUite a few holes where water comes into play. Fairways patchy in places but overall very good. Tees - played off Black - very patchy. Excellent range and practice green(s). Friendly helpful staff.

Fun course. Nice greens.
Interesting layout. Enjoyable pace of play. Greens were in great shape. However, around the greens something is going on and it was dead grass around the green on many holes.
Great Course
This is the ‘parkland’ style course of the two at Camelback. Course conditions are excellent. Greens were fast and true until a late afternoon rain slowed them down. Perfect time of year to play Padre.
Camelback Padre
Have played the Padre course twice recently and it was in excellent condition. Interesting layout with water on several holes. Greens roll really nicely.
Fun and Challenging!
Great course conditions today, greens fast and true, fairways great all around.
Fun course, your shot selection will be challenged by bunker placement and a few water holes. Many of the greens are domed so land them true and soft...or roll off.
We would do this again.

Great course, amenities & staff. Highly recommended experience. Greens were a bit quicker than practice with less break, smooth and rolled true. Enjoy!
Old course needs revision
This is an old style course with raised rounded old style greens. Only people who play it regularly would have any idea of.the landing areas, slopes, etc. This makes the course a very poor choice for first timers. The traps are all too typical of many Az courses, coarse sand that makes for hard surfaces and no loose sand.
While the greens and fairways are in excellent condition, this is a high price to pay for an old mediocre course.

Nice design, nice speed on greens, excellent manicured, Not a $200 a day course.

Wow. We had an incredible day. Weather was finally wonderful and course conditions were excellent. That and the pace of play was as good as you can ask for.
We would play this course every day if we could.
We got lost going from front 9 to back but it aint that hard to figure out.

greens were rolling great and fairways were very nice. Dormant Bermuda grass off the fairways so it was a great look.
Price was to high but we were visiting out of town and had wanted to play this course. Fun course to play if you haven't played it but there are better values elsewhere if money is a concern.
