Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course

The course conditions are actually pretty good. A little fuzzy on some greens, but nothing drastic.

My complaint is that we had some kid screaming at us that the course was "Cart Path Only" while we were playing. No one told us this. It wasn't listed as cart path when I booked the round. No one said anything at the bag drop. No one said anything in the pro shop when we checked in. There were no signs and the starter did not mention this either. We watched two groups ahead of us in the fairway from the first tee on. The ranger past us a couple of times and never once said anything to my group or the groups ahead of us. When I said this to the kid he said "Oh, the old man? He doesn't know anything." Well, there's respecting your elders.

The kid may have been right, but he handled it poorly. He said he worked there and he knew. If so, then he should have called the pro shop and had the Ranger explain it to the players, not yell it out during someone's back swing.

Great course, picturesque. Fairways, greens in great shape.. bring your camera.

The course itself is in good shape but the greens are furry and inconsistent. Beautiful area with great scenery and big fairways that demand a solid drive on every hole. Playing from the whites you need a consistent 230 to put the play into play with a 6 iron or less. Big greens but so slow. Pace of play was awful with cart path only still in play...not sure why. We had to wait at every hole and we were a foursome with a wife playing. Nice layout but if they are going with cart path they need to spread out the time farther.

Love playing founders. Course was just over seeded. Grass is coming in well. Greens were hairy but rolled true. Everything is in great shape.

Coming from CO, no idea about this overseeding thing. Turned out I had one of the last tee times before they closed. Course was very dried out and not in greatest shape. You can tell in prime season this would be a great layout.

Everything about the facility, the staff and the course is A+ awesome!!!

4th time playing this gem. Staff is always classy and friendly. Greens and fairways are always consistent and a great course for long and short hitters. One of my top 5 in the valley and trust me, it’s worth the drive.

Challenging but beautiful and the views are worth the price. Can only afford to play it when we find a deal but love the entire facility!

Course in excellent condition overall though green speeds were variable. Most greens were slow but the odd one was fast. Inconsistent. Service was great.

The gnats are relentless this time of year. Kind of made the round unenjoyable. Week before overseeding so the greens are a little hard and sand is thin in bunkers. No distance markers or gps on carts so use a rangefinder or a gps app. Great course.

We happened to be behind four golfers who did not have the utmost of respect for the golfers behind them. They were particularly slow on the greens and then took extra putts for whatever reason. The Ranger blamed a female golf outing on the slow play....which had nothing to do with the group in front of us. There was always 1 1/2 holes free ahead of them.

Pro shop staff is very unfriendly. Attempted to hit driving range but requires polo shirt. Staff is very snooty and upoty. Don’t attempt to play there unless you are that way yourself.

This course was awesome. Very cool layout. Very nice turf. But the greens were anything but. Very brown, very slow.

It was a perfect day except for the humidity but we had a great time with friends from out of town that wanted to play golf somewhere "a little different". The view was panoramic and we got an up close view of two coyotes on one par 5 hole on the back 9. We live in Goodyear so will plan to play here again sometime on a special occasion.
