Right in my own back yard!!!

I drive past Gatlinburg Golf Course every day. It's almost in my back yard. I've been here since 2007 and never have played the course. Circumstances have me traveling to FL every other week so I play in the FL panhandle. Yes, the greens have been recently punched but there was no sand on the greens. Even with the greens punched the putts rolled very, very well. I was surprised! The mountain landscape on this course is beautiful and that alone is worth the price of admission. It was "cart path only" when we played and that is the difficult challenge of this course. If you are not in shape and don't keep it in the fairway I would imagine it would be quite difficult for you to play this course on a "cart path only" day. It's a cardiovascular workout getting to your ball and back to the cart and that can make the playing time longer than expected for everyone.
You have to play this course if you are visiting the Pigeon Forge area. The course is named Gatlinburg Golf Course but it is in Pigeon Forge right down from Dollywood. If you are originally from the flat land areas of our country (like I am) you may never see another course like this. The par three that has the green waiting for you about 200 feet below the elevated tee box is tough for club selection. I talked myself into an easy 9 iron and it still went over the green. Selected a pitching wedge and hit another tee shot and had it hit the green it would have been on the back side. If you miss hit on that hole make sure it's to the left of the green. Right is gone!!!

Vacation Round

I played this course on my last day of vacation. I booked the earliest tee time hoping to be done before I had to be back for checkout at my hotel. The girl in the pro shop allowed me to tee off a little early so I was able to get around the track just in time to be back (around 3hrs). As I expected the course was way different from the courses that I normally play being from Ohio. Playing in the mountains was a fun experience but I prefer a more level course. Overall the clubhouse was very nice and the grass was still dormant and brown from the winter but was in good condition. I thought the front 9 was easier than the back 9 where way more mountain elements come into play. Overall it was a good experience, I would play there again if I vacation in that area again. The cost was a little steep even on golf now at $55 but there were better rates on the days that I couldn't play.

call before you go (green maintainence)

Amazing views, kinda cool, quirky, carnival-ish golf holes. Greens freshly punched full of holes, fairways were browned out mud patches,Cart path only, no Bloody Mary available (LOL), beer only, Had to skip 1st hole as a family of 5 were 30 minutes in and not on green yet, No starter/ranger etc. Is probably fantastic come summer time, but not yet, awesome value thru GolfNow is only saving grace. Worth the visit as I didn't expect more for this time of year.

Greens - Cart path only for the complete course

Greens were recently aerated and not really playable. Wish we would have known ahead of arriving, would have played somewhere else. Booked and paid for 2 rounds (Sunday - Monday) in advance prior to leaving on vacation.

course has great views

Terrible conditions to be paying 90 dollars for 2 people they arriatted the greens and on golf now didn't even say they were wet fairways so cart path only a lot of walking would been better if only paid 20 a person

Bring your hiking shoes!

Great fun course that challenges your course management and "vertical" skills. Greens recently aerated and sanded so not the best condition right now, but should be soon. Cart path only so expect a lot of "hiking" on this hilly course. Had fun and would definitely play this one again!

Very challenging course

Played this course when it was extremely wet and was cart path only so it was a lot of walking up and down the mountains. Very good course layout and challenging enough to make you say bad words. Overall good experience. Fairways could have been a little better but greens were good.

Gorgeous greens. No two holes alike-fantastic layout.

I drive from Waynesville,NC-(80min.away), & it's the best course for miles & miles. Well worth the drive. Greens are large, & putt so true, you will make more 25ft.putts here, than anywhere. 18 different holes-best variety anywhere. However, you will have lots of uneven stances during your round; but I love this course.

A Must Experience...Hole #12 "Sky Hi"

Being from Illinois flatland county, we thoroughly enjoyed playing the undulating fairways and the picturesque views.

Hole # 9 is appropriately called the "Hallway." See the picture.

Hole # 12 called "Sky Hi" was a real treat. It is 194 yards in length and drops 200 feet. See the picture.

We played in early March. It was a well-kept and conditioned course then so I can only imagine how nice it would be later in the year.

Friendly staff in the ProShop, which also includes a food service area.

Great bargain for the money. Give it a try!

Great, even in March

Got a crazy cheap rate thru golfnow. Played on March 10 after lots of snow and rain in February but course was in great shape. Bermuda was still "yellow" but to be expected in March. Greens in great shape. With rain in forecast and only a handful of people on course, the grounds crew was still out blowing leaves. This has always been a favorite course with elevation changes. Wish I could go again today!

New favorite course

We had a great time playing here. It is my new favorite course! I live in Knoxville and had heard of the course but I thought it was a much farther drive than it actually is. I will be going back asap. The course has some awesome views and tough tight fairways but it also is very forgiving on much of the course. You have to see the par 3 with huge elevation drop. It was a great day!

Hole #12 made the day

Coming from Florida I really enjoyed the elevaions of the course it reminded me of The Ravines that were once in Middleburg, Florida, now overgrown and woooded....sorry to see it happen, but this course was both exciting and enjoyable and would highly recommend it and if I'm ever in the area again I would definetly pla here again
