Space Coast Golf Club
About
Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Golfer Reviews
Condition of Savannah golf course
The overall condition was not good. The greens were very torn up and full of patched sod. The cart path was broken in most places and the cement was in high need of repair.
FIRST TIME...
Having read the previous reviews I was holding back on playing this course until I read the latest. The track is in good shape, greens are spot on, some fairway repair that u have to move ur ball, but other than that a good course. Setting is very nice and will play again and again.
Hidden gem
Was hesitant to play due to several recent negative reviews. However, i found the course to be well maintained and challenging. If you like birds, alligators and jumping fish, this course id for you. Surprisingly, there is an upscale residential community intertwined with the course, which has water on almost every hole. Pro shop attendant could have more hospitable, but no big deal.
Course was in poor condition,
The greens were very very slow and did not run true somewhat bumpy also. The tee boxes were level in many spots and grass was poor. The fairways had weeds and in many spots bare dirt. This course used to be in such nice shape this time of year. Was very disappointed.
Fair conditions/poor greens
The greens are extremely bumpy with pot holes (from aerification couple months prior). As the sun was going down you could see the bumpy greens that in some case kept the putts from going straight. In addition, the greens have some good size weeds that need to be taken out.
All said and done, these factors would not keep me from coming back. At a price point of $25, this would be worth coming out for.
Pace of play (4) is somewhat scewed because the course was empty.
galf saturday
course was a real good layout but greens were real harry and slow not in good shape bunkers were in terrible shape with a few holes fairways were a trainwreck . would like to play again when course is in better shape
the course is not in is better shape
the green where poor ,the fairways where fair, the tee box were poor the staff where very friendly ,the club house where dammage by the huricane matthew,
Course needs work...
Played the week after Hurricane Matthew ( and the effects of Nicole).
Very rough shape but playable. Lots of damage from the winds (they lost 100+ trees).
Still a great value and hope they get the course back in shape soon.
Needs lots of work
This course could be absolutely beautiful and it will be after meeting the superintendent while we were out. It has been neglected for many, many years. They're re-doing the club house / restaurant and the entire place is under new ownership.
The front 9 aren't in bad shape. The back 9 is terrible. The fairways are some of the worst I've ever seen.
I will play this course again... a year from now to see how the improvements are coming. Absolutely DO NOT play this course after a lot of rain. It was absolutely soaking wet with all the rain we've been having.
Rough conditions
The course was in terrible shape. Greens looked as though they had been aerated recently but never came back. Lots of pock marks on greens, very inconsistent with both speed and bumps.
Tight Course
Course is In good shape, very tight . What is usually the rough, is usually woods or water.
The practice facilities are fine.
The only disappointment is the staff, the older gentlemen who work there act as if you are bothering them.
Best deal in Brevard county
Last time we play here over year ago the condition was terrible. But this time around the course is much better. Fairway to green is very good condition. green put very good in the fast side a little bit. Some tee box are need a little improvement. Other than that, this course are very playable. We may be back to play here again.
Beautiful course
I was skeptical because of other reviews but this was a beautiful course with birds and gators everywhere. Yes there was a couple of bare spots in the fairways but I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. Great greens , challenging holes, and great pace of play. This was a steal on golfnow at only $21 . Go play this beautiful course and enjoy the beauty around you.
Greens r a rollin!!
The golf course is in pretty good shape. And the greens are impeccable!!!! VERY NICE.
great visual experience for florida
Greens coming back nicely. Still lots of fairway bare patches which seem to never be addressed for years. Cart paths still back-breaking in many areas. Ball-washers without water or missing, & poorly adjusted hole-locater pennants on flagpoles. But good carts , & friendly staff with no hassles. No 'drink-cart girl' which is fine by me. Some of the bunkers have had zero maintenance for ages which is a real drag when you end up in one. But overall quite good condition, picturesque, & good value this time of year if you can handle the heat. Most shortcomings could be easily remedied, except cart-paths.
It will be nicer when the bar reopens (in the fall?).
Side benefit are sights of real Florida wildlife up close,- birds, gators, & even a bob-cat the other day.
Must Play
Course in good shape, fast greens, not busy, great staff.......
Enjoyed my round
All members of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you all!
So the course... The course was in very good shape. Tee boxes, fairways and the greens. All were in as good or better shape than any course I've played this year. I play mostly in the Savannah/Hilton Head area.
Next time I play here I'll leave the driver in the bag. Maybe two holes will you ever need it, especially if you don't routinely hit it down the middle. Tight course with lots of water opportunities. More about placement.
I enjoyed my round and felt the course was very fair for the weekend hacker. I'll play again on my next trip down.
Savannahs
Course makes you hit your irons well. Greens recently punched and still lumpy. When finished they should be good.
Good morning, my name is Scott and I am the Operations Manager at the Savannahs Golf Course. After reading your review, I would love the opportunity to discuss your experience on our course.
