Space Coast Golf Club
About
Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Golfer Reviews
this course is interesty
the grass's quality in medium but i like play at this course
Good course for the money
Some fairways are a little rough and are definately ground under repair. Greens ran medium to fast.
Rough cut low but thick.
Nice people and facility.
Somebody jumped ahead of us and proceeded to hack us to slow
Pace of play.
Overcast and cooler day made for nice round.
Play there often when price/time right.
Recommend to others for low price round on medium rated course.
Worth the drive from Orlando, if you don’t mind a simple place with a good course.
This is a very interesting course, especially on a windy day. Looks rather short – about 6.400 from the tips – but is on a windy day very tricky. On the 7th hole you need a good drive with around 200 yards carry over a lake – almost always against a strong wind. If you don’t make it, don’t waste any next balls, there is a drop area just behind the lake… Fairways have some spots without grass and some bunkers are not in best shape. But the greens are mostly in very good condition and have a good speed.
Overall – this is a funny course, interesting because of the need of precise shots and the wind. Very low rates. No special service, but staff is friendly.
Fun course
Scenic course! Worth playing!
Friendly staff and a beautiful area . Paid 30$ for 2 with cart and it was a great choice .
Has Potential
Booked through GolfNow for a great price after hearing from a local that it's a "great course". Greens are decent and fairly fast, while fairways tend to have some rough spots scatered throughout. It appears that the heavy rains earlier in the year coild be the culprit. Given some time and TLC, the course should bounce back nicely.
Whay we didn't know by booking through GolfNow was that a girls HS golf match teed off at 0800 and backed up our scheduked starting time by roughly 45 min. With no course marshall to keep things moving, a threesome and two twosomes in front of our foursome slowed play considerably and made it a very long round. Would play again if in the area and hope for better playing conditions on the course.
Course condition is improving
Nice course for a county owned course. Good value in the off season
Nice course
Nice course. I met a baby alligator on the course looking at my golf ball.
target course
Lots of water but manageable. Fast greens. Friendly staff.
Savannah's
The Florida heat kept most golfers at home, I guess, because it was wide open. Nobody in front or behind us all day. The course is being maintained better!!!
Cart path only
Very nice layout, course was very wet on front 9. Greens put better than they look.
Awesome
I had a great time playing at this amazing course. Thank you golf now for making the price very affordable...
Thinkers course
I played with two fine gentlemen, Jim and Ernie, who helped advise me around the course. Its not too long but you need to be accurate. Conditions were good even with the greens airated and topped with sand. Great value and the bad reviews must have been from old management.
perfect
Shot my best round of the season. Course was excellent and the staff was friendly helpful. The two big eagles nests on hole 16 added to the great scenes on the course.
Very nice course plenty of water
First time playing this course. Was very pleased plenty of challenges more on front 9. Made a deposit of balls into hazards. I would come back to play this course being now i know it better, 2 holes were confusing on where to go but other than that nice.
Decent day of golf
Overall course conditions weren't bad but the greens were recently aerated and covered in sand. Why would you aerate greens before a holiday weekend?!
Off the path gem
The Savannah's is my favorite course on the Space Coast for both its scenic charm and challenging fairways. The front 9 has water in play all the time. Once reaching the back nine a sigh of relief as the fairways open up and water hazards are reduced. The views of nature are incredible. From alligators to all sorts of birds. As far as value, it's tough to beat. Range balls are included and the staff very accommodating and friendly.
Similar to Lexington Oaks GC, Ridgewood Lakes G&CC, & Turtle Creek GC.
9AM tee time w/ 3 buddies for $19.61/ea thru Golfnow Hot Deal. Interesting, fun & challenging layout. So much water on the course. There are a few holes w/ 2nd shots requiring carry over water. Tee boxes, fairways, & greens plush & immaculate. Greens rolling true & fast. Carts w/ windshield & rain cover. Heard rumors of course may be shutting down. This would be a shame because its a hidden gem. Will definitely return to play again. Oh, the employees are nice & honest. I left my GPS in cart & they found it & held it for me to pick up today.
What a Find !!!
The very best Municipal course I have ever played in Florida.
Greens were very good, tee boxes good, Traps and bunkers good, Fairways very good with a few spots needing but not many. The Staff were pleasant and friendly. I only wish it was closer so I could play it more. Still I will go back and play it again.
Improved conditions
Have played this course the past several years, in April when we visit from Canada. The past couple of years we felt the course conditions had deteriorated but this year, we found the course to be much improved, like they're maintaining much better. This is good because it's always been a fun course to play.
