Players need golf etiquette
My tee time was 11:50(through GOLFNOW).
Play was so slow, every hole we have to wait.
I takes 2hr 40min to finish front 9. The reason of slow play was the in front of two teams play 6 players together.
At 15th hole, we have to wait for 15 mins until next team arrived. The team behind us was 4 players. They park their golf carts right behind of us.(They should keep distence until we finished our teeoff.) And they said we are Intercept and we are not the team infront of them. I told them we are not intercept and ask them their tee time.
They said their tee-time wa 11:56, So I tell them mine was 11:50. The rude next team said they play Cherry Island for 30 years and they never heard 11:50 tee-time.
So we ignore their complain and we keep play. I never experience this kind golf maners for my entire golf life.
Fun layout, winter conditions
Course was soft but expected. They need to rake leaves… borderline impossible to find your ball if you’re not in the fairway.
Good times
Course was in decent shape for December. Staff was friendly in pro shop and especially in the restaurant
The pin placement on #16 was a joke. It was placed on a severe slope and the ball would go to the edge of the hole putting uphill and then roll down from below where I started.
Some of the tee boxes are almost always pointed to the rough (Holes 2 always, #3, #11, and #17 yesterday). Tee markers should be painted white all over the marker for the white tees, etc. You can't see the color unless you are facing from just one direction.
Best Muni-course greens I’ve played in a while
The course had a few spots in the rough and around the cart paths that were in typical winter shape. However, the fairways and greens were very well manicured. The greens were disease and weed free, rolled firm and fast but true. I found myself fixing several other ball marks from golfers ahead of me in an effort to leave the greens in as good of a shape as I could.
Disappointed
I’ve played this course a few times and it seems to have been neglected by the greenskeeping crew. Although the course is in good playing condition and the course has new carts, we noticed that the overall condition of the course is below the standards of the other Sacramento county courses
Fun and challenging course
I just wish I would have played better, great course. Will play it again.
