Golfer Reviews
Slow play
Took almost 3 hours to play the front nine finally give up after waiting another 20 minutes just to TeeOff on the 10 hole worse round of the year
Fun course with some interesting par 5's
Well maintained course. Nice practice facilities. The par 5's often require leaving driver in the bag and hitting precision hybrid/iron shots to reach the green in 3.
Course review
First time played, taugh course if you don’t know the layout, I was with a friendly pair of golfers that guided me through...Greens and fair ways were in great condition for being a municipal course. Paid $21 for 18 and a cart through golf now, can’t beat that!!! I would definitely recommend...
Cherry Island-YES
I've been fortunate to get in several round in the Sacramento area recently. Most courses are in horrible or moderate condition. Cherry was by far the best course condition wise I've seen. There was actual sand in the bunkers, lies were fair, and the greens were great.
Slow
Tee off time was 12:38, got there at 12:25 and they say they called us already..Slow play all day..Never going back.
greens in xlnt condition. lot of leaves on the course. facilities very old. no signs for directions to golf shop. course in fair condition and a little hard to get to. had yard markers on most holes. lot of variety and a lot of trees.
Great day for a round. Fairways made a good improvement over the summer.
Greens are fast and well manicured and bunkers were clean. Water services were great but we could use some other drinks from the cart, It was well worth of driving 45 miles. No more rowdy and unruly players on the course thanks to the continued rounding of the players assistant. We will come back again and enjoy playing there, since it seems to be safer now without those unruly hooligans on the course like few years ago.
Cherry Island
First time , somewhat challenging. I would have been lost on yardage without the GPS from Golf Now. There were some heavy spots of crabgrass / bermuda grass in the fairways, but I just moved the ball if it was much higher than the rest of the fairway. I am okay with that stuff in the rough. Will play again.
Slow
I can’t believe there are still guys who don’t get golfnow .The starter tried to insist I pay for green fee even though I paid online took 10 minutes to find someone to explain. Slow service at turn causing multiple groups to get out of order four groups back up on 10 back 9 played so slow worse than Ancil Hoffman I finally bailed after 14
Too long
Course was in great condition, greens were rolling true and the fairways were well maintained. However, all that good vibe falls by the wayside when it takes 5+ hours to complete a round. This has become an unpleasant trend for a weekend round at Cherry Island.
Cart included
Is a very good deal for the money. Greens rolled true. Marshall’s had free ice water on the course as well as snack cart. Superintendent does a good job presenting a playable golf course.
