Cherry Island Golf Course

Mild weather played in an excellent foursome.About 4.5 hours for 18 .greens a little slow but all and all great day

Greens rolled smooth ,plenty of landing area enjoyed the day .Pace of play was good front side but much slower the back side.enjoyed the day

3rd time playing this course. By far the slowest rnd. Not sure why, lots of 2-3 some groups. Might just have been the day but 5+ hrs on a course that in past has taken under 4 is a big difference.

I liked Cheery Island and will play there again soon. Of the selection of courses in the Rocklin, Rosevllle, Citrus Heights area it is my favorite. The course is not hilly, but has good undulations. The greens hold well and have good pace. Greensides are well manicured. The course is well maintained and is in pretty good shape. The tee boxes aren't completely level, but that's no different for any other course in this area. The layout us interesting. If you like to position yourself you'll definitely need to think about it on every shot.

I took a friend to Cherry Island because he had not played here yet. We had a great time and I believe this course will now be on our weekly itinerary. We had a bit of a slow down on the back nine but the Marshall said it was not typical for a Monday afternoon. We will try another round again.

The last time I played here the back 9 was the front 9. The course is like night and day from the last time I played. Much more greener, the greens was nice. Very little traffic. Simple a beautiful round.

Twosome, we arrived early and were made to sit and wait 20 minutes to tee off while tee box remained empty and time keeper requested to send us off early the office still forced us to wait. Not the best customer service from the pro shop office.

There are so many golf coursed that could learn from Cherry Island. First of all the staff. They have starters posted and two marshals roaming the course checking and adjust play, solving issues etc. The restaurant folks are proactive and accommodating. The greens are perfection. Fast and well kept. The course was perfect. We couldn't have asked for better amenities. I will come back as often as I can. This kind of attention to detail should be rewarded.

This was the first time I played this course and was not disappointed. The course is pretty well maintained, there are a few soggy areas in the low lying areas but for the most part the fairways are in good shape. The greens are very receptive and roll well. The course is not overly hard, but has some challenging holes, ball placement is key. Going off the fairways for the most part will give you a shot that you may be able to return to the short grass. Pace of play is really good probably because there weren’t that many people on the course, which really surprises me since this is a pretty nice course. The staff is friendly and the marshals bring water around to players which is a nice touch. Overall I would recommend this course and I will play it again.

Course in great shape. Well maintained green in great shape will return.

I was expecting this course to be a dog track considering its location. I work nearby and decided to give it a try.

This course far exceeded my expectations. Course conditions are excellent, greens roll fast and true. It is a fun and challenging layout. The greens have many ball marks, which was not surprising, considering the many hackers who pollute our beautiful public golf courses.

Everything seemed to be going to be ok at first but then the pace of play became a nightmare. The marshal told me that they booked 3 tournaments for seniors, super seniors (70-92 years old) and a lady group.(unverified).

A good marketing seemed to be out the window when the management saw an opportunity to make a good money.

We and half dozen other players decided that was enough and quit after suffering for over 5 plus hours for 14 holes. The sun was still up high.

Advice to the golfers who plan to play at Cherry Island should call ahead and make sure there will be no tournament booked or going on.

The pace is ridiculously slow! I play twice a week all over the area. This is by far the worst ! We will not return to play this course again! Very frustrating for such a nice layout!

Well manicured greens but exceptionally fast that day. If you play like your suppose to like staying on the fairways you’ll be fine. Hitting into the rough is ROUGH N TOUGH. Overall fun and highly recommend but bring extra balls.

This was the second time playing this course and the conditions have been improved. I will definitely play here again.
