Golfer Reviews
Extremely slow
No one want to play a five and a half hour round. Why even have a marshal if he is not going to do his job. I am still at 13th hole after 4.5 hours.
True pleasure
We come down from Reno once a year for a 3 day golf trip and this is a staple course to play. Great course for any skill level and always a pleasure to play especially during the week when it's not too busy at all
Nice Course for the Money
I hadn't played this course in about 10 years so it has changed a bit. Plays pretty long and has some challenging holes where you have to pick your spots. Overall a good course for all skill levels.
Great course layout
The course layout was challenging even playing from the white tees. There are doglegs and layups on some holes, course management is a must. The fairways and greens are in great shape. The rough wasn’t too high to hit out of but enough to impact distance. I had a great time playing.
Fun Tuesday
It was a great day for golf especially for a Tuesday. No rain and no mud pools. Great pace of play and exceptionally challenging from the blue. Low risk and high rewards if your in the middle. I recommend.
Slow
I have played here quite a few times but this was the first time that I left the course after 9 holes.Started a 12:06 3 hours and 15 minutes later called it quits. The course always in decent shape . I will try again .
Nice even though....
We pulled up to the first tee and found about 15 kids and parents in the fairway. The golf shop refunded our green fees.
We will try again in a couple of days.
Challenging layout and greens--slow back nine
Putting greens very challenging and in excellent condition. Fairways in excellent shape. Front nine finished in two hours with a tee time at 12:38 p.m. But back nine was very slow and took 2 hours, 40 minutes due to several holes that require a carry over gullies & hazards. I would only play here when it is not busy.
Dry Fairways
!st time out in a month and a half .Fairways were excellent and greens moderate speed .Enjoyed the pace of play about 4.5 hours .Enjoyed the day
Great shape
The course was in great shape. Firm fairways and nice bunkers. The greens were in good shape. The only downside was the 5 hour round due to slow play by the two groups ahead of us.
Fun Friday
Hardly anyone out there due to wet conditions but course was not to soggy. Overall getting to golf on a Friday is just fun fun fun, no matter how bad you play. I RECOMMEND THIS COURSE!
Excellent
Greens are fast, pace if play excellent. Club sandwich wow
great day
Mild weather played in an excellent foursome.About 4.5 hours for 18 .greens a little slow but all and all great day
Greens rolled smooth ,plenty of landing area enjoyed the day .Pace of play was good front side but much slower the back side.enjoyed the day
Little slow
3rd time playing this course. By far the slowest rnd. Not sure why, lots of 2-3 some groups. Might just have been the day but 5+ hrs on a course that in past has taken under 4 is a big difference.
Nice Course - Great Value
I liked Cheery Island and will play there again soon. Of the selection of courses in the Rocklin, Rosevllle, Citrus Heights area it is my favorite. The course is not hilly, but has good undulations. The greens hold well and have good pace. Greensides are well manicured. The course is well maintained and is in pretty good shape. The tee boxes aren't completely level, but that's no different for any other course in this area. The layout us interesting. If you like to position yourself you'll definitely need to think about it on every shot.
Taking a friend golfing
I took a friend to Cherry Island because he had not played here yet. We had a great time and I believe this course will now be on our weekly itinerary. We had a bit of a slow down on the back nine but the Marshall said it was not typical for a Monday afternoon. We will try another round again.
