This course is too dry, fairway is hard pan
I wish fair way has more greener and cashier should be more friendly service ; most of times there very moody
Employee Harassment
If you want to be harassed by Mather employee Josh Winkler play here. He harassed us on how we should be playing golf . He also told my 75 year old grandfather that his cart was too close to the green when it was well over 30 yards away!!! My grandfather is a veteran who fought for this country and is disabled. Needless to say it was a great course until we were harassed by Mr. Winkler acting like he owns the course. We will not be playing here again.
It’s not a resort
Been awhile since I last played here. Greens were in good shape, most people fixing their divots. The sand traps could use a little work, tee boxes could use work also, level and mow. The fairways were in decent shape, nothing too terrible. Overall for the price it was worth playing. I like playing different courses and this one I hadn’t played in some time. I will play it again.
Old days are missed
Have not played here in 25 years. Time has not been kind to this course. Tee boxes, traps, fairway grasses are all in disrepair. Greens are ok.
Good old days missed
It had been nearly 25 years for me since playing here. Time has not been kind to the course. Crab grass and dirt areas were too frequent in the middle of fairways. Grass in tee boxes were torn up. Tees were often lumped together as three different yardage lengths into one, which is not great for someone with a disability. Greens were in ok shape.
Mather golf course
Pace of play is slow for me. Some fairways are tight almost no grass, cause maybe weather is hot and dry.Otherwise it’s not too bad.
best value in the area
$41 on sunday prime time for walkers is the best value golf course in sacramento area
Fast Fairways
Overall the course was in fairly good conditions. Hitting in the fairways was a must because that outer edges were very dry and your ball would want to run. The greens were a little to short to my liking, so speed was a factor for me. It was worth the money (hot deal) and I'd recommend the course to friends.
Hidden gem
Mather Golf course has done really well during the current social distance issues. The staff was friendly, the course was well maintained and the tri tip sandwich on the turn was just what the doctor ordered.
Decent Bang for the Buck
With the exception of their bunkers, Mather is a decent course. It provides challenges, greens are generally well kept and are on the quicker side, offers multiple tees that accommodate all handicaps. Staff is very friendly!
Jun 24th Hot 4 hour round
Four hour round with two walkers and two cart riders. Lots of watering due to hot weather. Staff very friendly lots of PPE for the Covid-19 pandemic. Greens slow due to watering for afternoon heat. Fairways and greens in good shape. Well worth the money - tee time set of off GolfNow.com
