Unplayable Greens
Love this course, but they need to put an aeration warning up and lower greens fees. Putts were just your best guess of when it was going to bounce off line or just get stuck in sandy mud that is covering the greens. Made the choice to play here instead of somewhere closer that was up front about the aeration only to be disappointed. Round also took over 5 hours...

$62 twilight round with aerated greens and slow play
Paid $62 for tee time with cart. Without any warning the greens were freshly sanded and aerated and we played 10 holes in 3 hours before. Poor show from what is a sick course.

Green were unplayable — should not be charging full-price right now.
Greens were aerated very recently, and WAY too much sand was applied to them — instead of the sand filling the holes, there was consistently a thick layer of sand on TOP of the greens that made them impossible to putt on. To be charging full-price greens fees for the current condition of the greens is embarrassing.

Please hire a marshal to speed up play
I've been playing Rustic almost every week for the last 5 years, and it's been sad to see average rounds on weekend mornings go from 4 hours to 5+ hours over the last year. The weekend tee sheet was full even before the pandemic, so the difference in pace comes from the golfers playing the course now. With the extra money the course has taken in from the fee increases, they should hire a marshal (or two) to make sure groups are keeping up pace, especially early in the morning.
As for the course - it's the best public layout in the SoCal area, cannot say enough great things about the design. The course stays fun week to week due to pin locations that provide different strategic challenges depending on wind direction, etc.

Great course, tremendous value
Rustic Canyon is a wonderful course with a very unique layout and tough greens.
True links style with hard greens and tricky putts. Green reading here well is mandatory with everything taken into account like grain, breaks toward the gate, wind, and undulations galore.
For only $45 weekday walking, this course is a steal and one of the best values in public golf.
