Rustic Canyon Golf Course

Only second time to play, but the course was in great shape. I really like the layout, good variety of holes. Well worth the money (and hour drive).

I've played Rustic for years, making it my "home course" even though it was a bit of a drive from home. I've always loved the natural layout (unique for courses in our area, except maybe Olivas) and beautiful, low key nature of the place. It offers a low handicapper plenty of challenge from the back tees, unlike many of the shorter courses in the area. The course is still much as it has been, but with Covid and increased play it has become crowded, and relatively expensive. I rarely find a combination of fair rate and available t-time, and when I do go there, pace of play is extremely slow. I've driven to the course a couple times since the pandemic crush and decided not to play because of the back-up on the front nine. I guess I'll have to wait until things calm down before I return with regularity. The course is more fun to play in winter anyway when the surrounding canyons are green and full of wild flowers. Still if you're willing to wait, its one of the nicer public courses in SoCal.

The big knock was the size of the greens, there really wasn’t a fringe Per say, made it difficult to tell where the greens actually began. Another thing to keep in mind, the putting green butt’s right up to the 18th green, be on the lookout. Fun challenging course, has some decent obstacles to watch out for. Would definitely play here again, great area to have a course

Played this course from the tips with a friend after learning about it through a golf Youtuber I watch from time to time. Best bang for your buck you can get. It can be challenging at times but the layout of the course really makes you use your brain on most shots. It’s rewarding when you make the right choice and play smart golf. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who’s serious about playing quality courses!

This course is perfect! Great views, beautiful landscape, and all around picturesque golf..... until you get to the greens. Put it close or add your strokes! Tough greens is an understatement. I will play here again just to see if it was a bad day!

One of my favorite courses in the heart of Moorpark California! The course is amazing condition and the views are like no other! Love this course!

If you like links style courses with wide fairways, lots of bunkers and huge greens, this is the place for you! It’s very tough to putt but the fairway is wide open which gives players of all scores a fair chance. Really loved playing here for the first time and can’t wait to do it again!

True links style course. Challenging but fair. Tricky greens. Always fun to play. But it should not take 5 hours to play.

Great day of golf. Course is in great shape. Staff are wonderful. The greens will bust your balls if you’re not familiar, intimately familiar with the course and how the greens run.

A super challenge and well worth the price. Bring sunscreen it is usually a scorcher
