Rustic Canyon Golf Course

This is probably the best layout within 50 miles. Every hole makes you think. Plenty of risk/reward. Never tricked up. It’s a challenge for sure, but it’s fair.

On weekends it gets very slow. I’d love to see them put some marshals out to move slow groups along. Recently the greens haven’t been a great as they can be. Still fast and difficult, but not quite as pure.

Rustic Canyon is a links style lay out. You will need to play it a couple of times to really get to know the course and how to play it.

The course itself is an amazing feat, I’m scratch. Saying that, the tees to greens were awesome and flush. But the Greens Greens Greeens killed me, not knowing the course or what side to attack the pin just put me in position to 3-4 putt most holes and all u have to do is just laugh and take your lickings. Play the course and enjoy the journey...

A links course it is, from tees to greens was awesome. I hit the ball 300, so most approach shot were finding the greens. But if you think u can putt, think again. These greens are tough, confusing, and the perception of what u see will have u guessing all 18 holes.. slope, speed, direction and eye sight will all play a factor for what your day score will, hopefully u have someone with common knowledge cause it MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE where the flag is and what side of the flag to hit.. I haven’t played here in about 8-9 years but met up with my friend James and played with two singles Angel and zach who just turned 30. We had a great time . This was my 67th course in my quest to play 100 Southern California gold courses in 365 days (2019) . We had a great time . It was about 98 degrees but with good company I didn’t even notice how hot it was. Thanks for a great round .

As usual the course was in good condition. It's a really good and challenging layout that will punish you the minute you don't pay attention. Have fun and hit them straight.

Great layout. Friendly staff. Elizabeth is awesome. It’s a 5+ hour round, but that is the state of public courses nowadays during peak times.

This is an amazing course. Awesome links design by Gil Hanse., greens so big if you play regularly you will be a great lag putter. This courses emphasizes accuracy and good course management. Bad tee tee shots are deservedly punished. Wish the pro shop had a greens book to help in reading the greens. Highly recommended.

I played twice in two days on a trip to SoCal. I was excited to see the Gil Hanse design and it did NOT disappoint. Every hole is fun, challenging but forgiving for all level of golfers. Condition of the course was excellent, staff had their act together, with tee times going off efficiently.

Also, it must be noted, I feel like 95% of the golfers out here are serious about their game, and understand the importance of pace of play. Therefore, even though the course is quite busy, the pace of play is not too bad.

I cannot stress enough how good the value is to play here. I paid $35/round for the two days and I simply cannot imagine a better bang for your buck. GO PLAY!

arrived 35 min before tee time. Pro shop- efficient. 60 range balls between the 2 of us. 5 minute call from the starter overheard from the range. All together, pleasant walk from the time we got out of our car. Greens were aerated earlier from what we saw reaching the 1st green. Greens were as good as could be for being aerated. Tee boxes, fairways excellent. Bunkers need a lil love. All n all, a great course, great day and the 2some that we were paired with were golfers! That wrapped the bow on this party! Thanks

Course in great condition! Pace of play excellent !

One of the top 3 public golf courses in Southern California. Long forgiving fairways, lush desert scenery, large greens - fast and undulating. Always well maintained with good pace of play. Watch out for sand traps and wind conditions. Overall great value and great fun. Can’t wait to play again.

Nice course interesting greens but a little Raggy in the fairways and bunkers
